I just remembered Johnson’s second foul was an away from the ball foul on the offensive end just like his 4th.. Forget about not being allowed to play defense, he wasn’t even allowed to play offense. The whole game seems really fishy. This isn’t sitting right. We haven’t mentioned it much, but Duke had some real soft ones too. The fouls were so egregiously bad, it makes you think a bit.

Look, some of us have been saying it for a while.

Bo is horrendous. He dislikes us and calls BS crap on us all the time.

That said, his performance was so beyond the pale for a ref, that he needs to be privately admonished

You simply can't watch that game and not come away with the conclusion that he has an issue with Myles.

Do I think the fix was in? No, of course not. Were the fouls so egregiously bad and so targeted that it makes me pause and think wtf? Yes. If a game was called like that all of the time, Garza, Cockburn, and Johnson would foul out every game.

How many of Myles five fouls did Bo call? I don't think he called the 5th one but not sure about the others. Seemed like a group effort of incompetence.

Myles had 5 fouls, Mamadou had 4, so 9 fouls to our big guys. How many fouls did the big boys from OSU have? This wasn't incompetence on the refs part, it was blatant bias. There has to be a conference review process to this travesty with consequences

The fourth foul was actually the most egregious of all. I don't agree with it but I've seen the 5th foul called a lot. From the baseline view, you can argue that Myles did not put his arms up totally vertical from the start. The 4th foul was beyond the pale.

I was also just about to post that I'm still mad too but the OP beat me to it. Now, I'm hoping the break doesn't impact anyone's treatment for their injuries since we need to get healthy quick. Every game is so important.

The 4th foul was for unnecessary breathing.

What else could've it been?

The most frustrating thing for me waking up today is 3-0 in the big ten is much different than 2-1 especially with Purdue, Iowa and Michigan State coming up in the next two weeks.

The good news from all this is we know we are better than that team. And anyone who watched knows what happened. It may not show up in the polls but it will in March. this will be better for us in the long run. We were never going to go undefeated so to have adversity like this early helps us. Maybe this is the difference between 10/11 non conference games to 3/4. Every team has a bad loss every year. this was it for us.

Hopefully this gets addressed and we get a better whistle going forward.

If the Big 10 can’t see the value in a strong RU brand then they really are the biggest clown conference in the country. So far the B1G under Warren feels a lot more like the Big East under Aresco.

That was brutal. Does anyone think Virginia or Duke would get screwed like that in the ACC? I’m not saying we’re those teams. But seriously, put some damn respect on our name. No team deserves what we got yesterday.

I’m still mad about it as well, but this team wasn’t going undefeated so might as well get a loss out of the way, to a ranked OSU, on the road, in which we were dominating in the first half. As the saying goes, don’t curse the darkness, light a candle, so hopefully the team learns something from this, gets even hungrier and builds on it from here. Theyll have another crack at OSU in a few weeks and beat them by 20.

This. Myles was seemingly intentionally targeted.

How many of those fouls would have been called on Garza? 1 or 2 of the 5?

it will be interesting to see the foul calling when these two go head to head

I also woke up still being down and feeling terrible for our guys, especially Myles. I really hope the BIG 10 administration does watch this game carefully and does think that we got a bad deal in this game. I also think that Jacob going down shows us how badly we need Caleb McConnell as another player for insurance when someone gets injured.

I also doubt Garza would have been called for the fouls that Myles got called for. I hope Myles gets to play major minutes when he goes head to head with Garza.

How about the blatant foul not called when Baker was shooting? Coach went nuts and rightfully so.

Sorry but this is like Stockholm syndrome finding a way to rationalize the 5th foul.

There is no rationale on the planet for calling that a foul. None.

The longer we've been in this conference the more I start to realize that Ohio State gets special treatment. They couldn't let them lose at home to Rutgers

I got some abuse from some on this board when I insisted that once the graduate transfers that we targeted, like Sam Sessoms, were off the board, it was better to take a more marginal graduate transfer than none at all. I did not see a downside in using an open scholarship for the year. The counterpoint was that it could “disrupt the chemistry.“ Pike is the type of coach that could handle any chemistry issues and nip them in the bud. I continue to feel that they should have taken a flyer on someone other than their front line grad transfer candidates.

Think a bit! We got a first class hosing. They were out to take Myles out of the game.
