Doubt anyone here on these boards knows who will come here. Every transfer commit was only known when they committed to NU. That said, we should have one or two now.

With Wisconsin winning the Guaranteed Rate Bowl, I'm hoping we will be introduced to our new DC later this morning!

This is what I feel like we know
1. We have a terrible team.
2. We lost several of our best players, of which, a clear replacement only exists for one (Porter for Hull, probably).
3. We held onto most of a good recruiting class
4. We have a QB with some good tools if we can keep him healthy, but no apparent backup
5. JON is gone, and a couple of other small fish, but no replacements yet. Fitz is gonna Fitz, but he may be dumpster diving at the end if all top candidates are gone by the time he is done with his so-called due diligence.
6. Nevertheless, Fitz could pick a name out of a hat of other known DCs or top assistant and do better than he did last time.
7. We don't seem to have an idea what do do about this Portal thingy or the NIL gizmo.

My current prediction is 2-10 for 2023, but a decent DC could help us get another win or two. If Sullivan gets hurt - look out.

1 through 5.5 we know. 5.5 through 7 are speculation.

No news probably means there's no news. They haven't hired anybody and there's no transfers yet. Quite possibly it's as simple as that.

Porter averaged 3.3 ypc.

Excluding his 19-94 game in Ireland, he had 192 yards on 68 carries, good for 2.8 ypc. Maybe he’ll be healthy next year.

Hey, I was just trying to show SOME glimmer of hope. We have a little RB talent, a QB (one and only one) who has shown some tools, a couple of young DBs, and...that's it? I honestly don't know where the 2nd win will come from.

GCG told us over and over that Porter is better than Hull at the beginning of the season so let's see if he was even close to correct.

Incoming freshmen, maturation of players from last time year, better defensive scheme with new coordinator, Fitz opening up the O. He wasn’t always three yards and a cloud of dust. Too early to throw in the towel on ‘23.

Watch how much better the linebackers look next season if we actually have a defensive coordinator who knows what he’s doing.

Won’t matter if we don’t improve our DT play. Hopefully new DC will get it done.
I wonder if Pat considers Randy Bates at Pitt. Bares is ex-NU, has done a decent job at Pitt, and we know Fitz loves to hire friends. And Pitt played today so, if so, we’d likely hear soon.

I would be happy if Bates were the guy. Hankwitz taught him and he learned from Pat Narduzzi as well. We could go back to the our Hankwitz scheme

Pitt is home for Bates and probably his last stop.
