Listened to a little bit of Steve Taylor this PM. He said he thinks Scott Frost is smart enough to make a change. I.E. coaches. Was very critical of the defensive coaches as well as Scott himself. Basically he and others are not happy and Scott needs to prove he and his coaches are P5 coaches even if it means making changes.

Gotta agree with Steve.

Gotta agree with Steve.

Kinda goes back to the unity of purpose for EVERYONE Frost preached when hired. He’s losing unity in the fanbase if he refuses to objectively solve this problem.

Will his smartness overcome his stubbornness and pride? That’s the big question.

Yeah....the only change I would make for sure is a new DC. Like I said in the other thread about needing to make the change, it isn't the personell issues that are the issue with me, it's that the teams know what to expect in certain situations and it's always what they expect and they run plays to exploit and they always work. Then we end up losing instead of winning. When it happens going all the way back to UCF it is an issue that isn't going to be fixed without a change.

I'm not looking for perfection on D, but when it's the same thing all of the time it is a pattern that isn't changing and will keep losing Frost games instead of winning.

I hope Frost does make the change. But then we have to have stability.

If there was a second change to D it would be a new OLB, but again when Davis whiffs on multiple tackle attempts in a single play that is a player performance issue.

What about the offense? The offense has been horrid this year, outside of the Illinois game.

Yep, bingo! Scott needs to let someone else call the shots and he needs to focus on being the CEO of this company who is currently in penny stocks .

I don't think it is only the fan base, there are other fissures inside as well IMO

He’s right.

But, it ain’t happening. Chinander is here to stay unless we are fortunate enough to have another team come and snatch him up. But, I imagine he’s pretty comfy coaching next to his best bud and making 800K a year.

Yep...Frost's vaunted fast play calling and offense are nowhere to be seen, play calling is suspect (putting it kindly), rotations are strange, line carrying bad weight...and, and, and...

I see no more inept from the D than I see from Frost himself. Call that because I'm an outsider but just being honest. Maybe I can see things clearer because I'm not involved as a fan.

Frost needs to swallow his pride and let Walters call the plays. Somebody has to step up and make a QB change when AM is ineffective. And if Frost doesn’t want to make a DC change, then as the CEO he needs to get involved with the D. It’s his operation and he needs to run all phases of it.

Not worried about the future of our offense at all. We can already put up 500 and 600 yards a game with sophs and freshman being the main producers. We will had more talent on O in the incoming class and we don't lose anyone that is going to make any difference.

The biggest issues on O right now is no deep threat and lineman, outside of Jurgens, that can't pull. The freshman lineman are a lot more athletic and longer....different body types.

It's the D that makes me concerned in a non-personnel view of things.

Scott needs to in hitch himself from Adrian in a hurry

Don't necessarily disagree but all of the top three QBs are injured (not hurt, injured)

Bunch and this OL aren't going to win the game on their own like Monte Christi and the Pipeline

3-4 will not work.

Only one team in the conference runs it and it hasnt won them anything since 2012.

Martinez lost the game today and he admitted as much in the post game. Scott called a wretched game trying to do what his team obviously could not execute but I didn't see where he admitted that.

This loss isn't on Chinander much as we want to hate on him. They gave the offense the ball well into Purdue territory multiple times. It was wasted most of the time.

We're in the 100s in red zone scoring ranking. That's on the offense. You can't keep your defense out there all game and be surprised if they get tired and start getting sloppy.

a lot of people don't understand the concept of the defense getting worn out...they act like the 95 defense won every game and frazier, lp and the pipeline just tagged along.

Martinez couldn't find guys that were open or hit them the few times he did find them. AM had a very bad game. If he's average we win going away. No way to sugar coat it and he knows it.

NU should have been ahead 28-0 in the 2nd quarter. Offense allowed Purdue back into this game that they absolutely had no business winning.

I still think we need continuity. I’m tired of firing coaches. Give them one more year to try to figure it out. But I’m probably more patient than most.

And he had a TON of time on a bunch of his attempts too

Watching Nebraska football and writing about it on here is like having ****** food at your in-laws, then taking home leftovers and forcing yourself to eat it again tomorrow.

We suck. Plain and simple.

Who knows what will happen but it aint happening for a long, long time.

So just enjoy the moment!

Give the staff another year just because we need some continuity. Give Frost longer if he makes the appropriate changes. But I will admit my hope is running dry.

Mine too.

I’d feel so much better if I could see at least a shred of improvement from week to week.

And what about strength and conditioning? Does anyone not see that as a huge problem at least as it applies to the lines? Fat and slow would be a good description of DL and neither line can overpower any B1G opponent.

I find it hard to believe anyone is happy with any position group. But what they do all project is an attitude of who gives a crap.

I agree that we need new leadership for the defensive coaches but I don’t think getting one new guy will make a huge difference. That DC needs to have some guys he knows and trusts.

The offense is poorly coached as well. There were at least a half dozen times I anticipated a procedure penalty because we look so disjointed. No wonder we get no push.

I don't think conditioning is as big of an issue as a lack of athleticism at some spots is. We're just not very quick at several O line spots and with a couple of our older D linemen.

Frost seemed to think that conditioning would really change things.

There is no doubt that it helped Devine. I hate to think where we would be had we not stepped it up. We were about as weak as it gets. The change physically is noticeable when you see the team in person up close. The problem is that I think there's just a ceiling of some our guys limiting their ability to execute their job description. Alex Davis is one example. Hixson, Farniok are probably 2 others. WRs in some cases lack speed. There's only so much you can do with S&C. You do remember how Iowa steamrolled us last year right? Now we're I think doing a better job of physically holding the spot but we're making too many mistakes at linebacker especially. Then you throw in the issue we have right now at QB.
