I got a problamo with it to. I think a lot of people do. You should not have 25 y/o guys squaring up against what could be 19 y/o kids in CFB on the other side of the ball IMO.

Isn't this scenario a direct result of covid? And if so, shouldn't these scenarios be filtering themselves out in the very near term??

He’s 25? Holy crap.

Oh well though… no one has a problem with the Mormons doing their mission then playing as 21 year old freshmen….

Isn't that the case with BYU? Most players go on a mission for two years first and then college.

Amen

Imagine being 25, the king of the campus AND hot 18-22 year old girls thinking it is NOT CREEPY when you approach them...

I mean...literally the beginning to a Skineamax late night movie...

And it is not like he is some physical freak playing agains these "young" players.

Come on a Lot of people go to college for 7 years

On a serious note his age will be a factor on draft day. Don’t think he makes the NFL

I've seen him reported as the 12th best QB this class. Wonder if that means mid to late round? Or UFA?

So people forget Chris Weinke?! Makes Stetson look like a baby.

At 28, Weinke became the oldest player ever to win the Heisman Trophy. As a junior in 1999, Weinke led Florida State to a perfect 12-0 record, capping the year with a 46-29 win over Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl to give the Seminoles the BCS National Championship.

He did mention Weinke. And the 50-year old punters from Australia, lol.

Blame people who gave a free covid year...ruined a lot of records at universities.

redshirt year (free 4 games)
covid year
medical redshirt
+4 regular years

There are a lot of "old" kids currently at a lot of programs. QB (Hooker) from Tennessee is also 25 years old.

My math isn't strong, but doesn't Casey Thompson turn 25 during the season this year?

Anyone checked the age of NU's #1 QB?

I am aware we've had some older players. Not a fan of it on any team. I know CT turns 25 next year. Not going to lose any sleep over it or boycott anything...hell I won't even raise my voice.....I just think that's getting a little long in the tooth to play college ball. I also think it stunts your professional growth. Every situation is unique so whatevs...but I think an age limit is a good idea. Do I think it will happen? Prolly not.

3 more years till the Covid BS works out of the system... I never understood the extra year for all players True Fresh through 5th year Sr's. That is 6 years of playing time for all players not good enough for the NFL. Now with NIL, the draft day free agents can get an extra year to improve their stock.

Yes they go on mission and then play for 4 years. They don’t play for 7 years. There’s the difference between Mormon missions and playing minor league baseball.

Life must be hard for him. Every girl at Georgia has got to be throwing themselves at him and he never has to work another day in his life after becoming a legend in GA.

Well 12th best QB’s generally don’t make rosters. There’s only about 64 people who play QB in the NFL and 32 to more on a Practice Squad waiting for something to happen. Generally those back half guys are veterans that know the playbook.

SB has never been tested. He’s never had heat play in play out and had to make good quick decisions under stress. Maybe he can do it. 🤷‍♂️

But I don’t think the cards are stacked in his favor. Guys tend to look different when there’s a pass rush after their ***.

I think he showed it against OSU though. I honestly didn't think he had that in him anyway.

Of course he wouldn't have all those weapons and would be playing against much better talent in the league. So I wouldn't be surprised if he goes underated of that projection remains.

Who knows, maybe he kills it at the combine lol

I don't have the slightest problem with it, especially when you want to hand a kid fresh out of high school hundreds of thousands of dollars who hasn't done **** yet. In fact don't think there should be eligibility limits at all if there's just a free for all anyway in terms of the transfer portal. If these young guys are given 3rd or 4th chances due to their own choices, why is it so bad that a guy who's a late bloomer gets a chance to live out his dream?

Yep, at WORST he has a lifetime gig with UGA a an "ambassador" for booster relations.

Which means, lots of lunches, meet and greets, booze, pictures, golfing and walking around from sky box to sky box on game days.

Probably to the tune of 125K a year to start.

"This is wrong, a 25 year old guy should not be playing against 18 year old boys"

Also

"Sure, a dude with a dong should be able to compete against women, if that is how he identifies"
