No harm done taking a chance so no failGood luck Stepp. Sadly, another reclamation project fail for Frost. When will he learn?
Hope things work out for himYep. THis was always going to happen.
They need to be much more discerning when offering these transfers. Too many guys coming in as damaged goods. There's an argument to be made that the talent makes it worth having a guy miss spring and/or fall camp, sit out a year, etc. But sometimes those players mentally or physically do not recover 100%.Just not the four star player coming out of H.S. he was thought to be.
Once in a great while I wish there were a thumbs down/dislike button for posts. Now is one of those timesSeems like a Stepp in the right direction for him.
No loss. He was worth a try but sadly his career is probably over.Yep. THis was always going to happen.
He's just never been healthy since high school and probably never will be. You knew when he slammed his helmet down in the spring game he was done here.Just not the four star player coming out of H.S. he was thought to be. Nebraska coaches need to be a little, no strike that, a lot better at offering every player that comes out of the portal. I don't blame our current coaches because the players they got out of the portal haven't seen the field yet, this was all on the previous staffs who were below average imo.
I would guess that Held is mostly responsible for that. This is indeed a Frostism.. bringing in guys who are injured in the hopes that it works out. The fact that coach was an elite athlete back in the day hurts his decision making in this regard. How many RB's or otherwise were brought in over the last 5 years who were injured / damaged goods that didn't work out? All of them. And Rahmir hasn't done enough of anything for me to call his situation a success.
not even close.. all those offers to injured players were Scott's call.I would guess that Held is mostly responsible for that.
Ha! You went there.Seems like a Stepp in the right direction for him.
I think Sipple said it was something like 7 backs have come & gone in Frost's tenure and only Mo Washington/Dedrick Mills rushed for more yards than Wan'DaleThis is indeed a Frostism.. bringing in guys who are injured in the hopes that it works out. RBs, starting pitching, and cars. Once they break down, they never run quite the same. Unless you catch the problem early and have a good Dr/mechanic.He's just never been healthy since high school and probably never will be. Sounds like he'll be getting his degree so he can grad transfer.
Good luck to him.
That is a crazy state when you think about it. The only 1,000 year rusher under this staff was already on campus when Frost and Co. arrived in Frost's first year.I think Sipple said it was something like 7 backs have come & gone in Frost's tenure and only Mo Washington/Dedrick Mills rushed for more yards than Wan'Dale
and the first thing they did with him when they arrived was bury him on the depth chartThat is a crazy state when you think about it. The only 1,000 year rusher under this staff was already on campus when Frost and Co. arrived in Frost's first year.
It was a big day in our off-season championship runHope things work out for him
I remember the kool aid flowing freely that day when the back-up to the back-up to the back-up to the starter at USC announced he was coming to Lincoln
In general, I think it's OK to give some of those players a try out as long as they don't stay on the roster if it doesn't work out.I agree we need to watch out bringing in too many players with injury history, however I also imagine it’s hard to find many good players who have not had injuries.
Injuries are just so common, and if it didn’t happen before, it can happen when they’re here.
The lack of RB production as a whole during Frost’s tenure is a problem. Time to fix that now.
We were kind of scrambling for a big back and he was experienced. He was probably worth the risk when we took him. They need to be much more discerning when offering these transfers. Aren't they all. I don't recall many if any saying, nah, don't take that guy. Its like, oh heck yea, a great get. Then two years later, he really needs to go and was a reach to recruit him.We were kind of scrambling for a big back and he was experienced. He was probably worth the risk when we took him.
I know I had high hopesWe were kind of scrambling for a big back and he was experienced. He was probably worth the risk when we took him.
Count me in the camp as hopeful.Aren't they all. I don't recall many if any saying, nah, don't take that guy. Its like, oh heck yea, a great get. Then two years later, he really needs to go and was a reach to recruit him.
