What a game.

I have seen Mount, Maravich, Roche, Fly Williams, Travis Grant and many others in person but I have never seen anyone shoot the deep ball like Curry.

Amazing. They are the only team I will watch in the NBA.
When you think in these terms it truly is amazing,in sports you have never seen it all

Steph is the greatest of all-time; I hope that this makes you believe. He is 22-31 in the last two games, and 24-33 for 72.7 percent from the three. I wanted 13 tonight, but I'll settle for a 12-16 night. He is now 37-55 from shots 28 feet and further. This isn't the best you'll see. He seriously could hit 20 threes in a game. If they bring in a four-point shot.......

However, WTF was Durant thinking? The league seems to go full retard late in games against the Warriors. It's almost seems scripted. Curry will get to 55-50-90 by the end of the season.

Curry >>>>>>>>> MJ + Wilt

Not that it matters (because it doesn't) but did UK try to recruit him? When I see an NBA star playing well I always wonder.

He's incredible.

Curry is definitely on pace to having the best year ever in the NBA.
Going to be hard to top Oscar's triple double season or these Wilt Chamberlain seasons:
38 and 27
38 and 27
50 and 26
45 and 24
37, 22, and 5
35 and 23
33 and 24
33 and 25 and 5
24, 24, and 8
24, 24, and 9

And lord knows what his per game block numbers would be if they had tracked them back when he played.

I turned on that channel to watch the news and there was like 30 seconds left in regulation and OKC was up four. Crazy.

from a guy that believes Jordan is the best, that was incredible.

The only thing is, my god, why is he always so open? it's baffling to me.

The way the game ended tonight with Durant going full retard at the end of regulation (really everyone who is in a tight game with the Warriors), you wonder if some of this is scripted. Remember, this is entertainment. Steph Curry and the record breakers are the narrative. I knew OKC was going to lose, even when they were up 9 late. They will get 75 wins, and Steph will break more records. The NBA loves this. The retired players trashing on the Warriors are salty as frick, but have some legitimate points. Everyone guards Steph the same way, and act like they have never seen a screen before. I will say that Steph gets more open looks than any superstar ever has. He might get more open shots than even everyone not named Rondo. Steph is like a +30 WAR.

I mean thats what I'm saying. It makes no logical sense why he is so open. ESPN tries to give excuses but it still doesn't matter. It's really unbelievable how open he is all. the. time.

I know it may be premature, but I think he's the best 3 pt shooter ever.

Maybe a little late. The three-point line didn't become overly significant until the late 90's. Curry might have 800 attempts by the end of the season. Not counting this season, if someone shot league average on 800 attempts, they would hold the record for three-point makes. He has already attempted more than 600. I heard a stat that he is open, or semi-open on almost 75 percent of his attempts. I think he was covered on two makes against Orlando (he hit ten). An "open shot" is considered when a defensive player is six or more feet away from the shooter at the point of release (this is a VERY good look in a game). If a defender is behind him, and doesn't contest, it should be considered an "open shot". Steph is GOAT, though.

Reasons he is so open:

1. He's crafty
2. He shoots from way back
3. You have to guard everybody, and they all spread you out. Can't double
4. They set a lot of moving picks
5. They demoralize you and make you give up
6. Freedom of movement
7. He can also put you on skates and blow by you

naw man, it's more than that. Even off those picks those defenders aren't in a hurry to get out on him. They just sort of, eh, i'll just throw a hand up from 3 get away.

think about it, he's looking like the greatest shooter of all time, and one of your (everybody's) excuses for why he's so open is he's crafty and shoots from deep.

The best shooter ever, always open, because he's shooting deep?

Well, then cover him deep . LOL. I mean, it's truly bizarre.

Oscar Robertson said that coaches have no clue on how to play defense, or guard Steph (Steph is still GOAT, but come on...). I watched a highlight featuring all 286 of his makes from last season. I think close to half were uncontested, or very poorly contested (the contest was AFTER the release), another quarter of them were semi-contested. He has only shot about 30 "very tightly guarded" threes (defender within two feet at the point of release). Not surprisingly, his percentage on such shots are not very good. I didn't watch the game, but I watched the Orlando highlights, and he was open, or semi-open on 8 out of 10 makes. It wouldn't surprise me if at least eight of his makes were poorly contested, or uncontested.

So it's a consipiracy? Lol Why isn't Lebron ever so open or Jordan for that matter.

I think it's all of those things I listed. Perfect storm.

It might start with freedom of movement. Players have been conditioned not to touch anybody. Nobody wants to foul out.

They also don't want to be put on skates. Steph hits threes on everybody, so that's no big deal. But if he breaks your ankles you get made fun of on NBATV.

Me, I would probably foul out in 6 minutes and let someone else have it. But he would shoot twos and free throws. I know what you mean.

Jordan was covered a lot tighter than this.

I don't think it's as far as wrestling, and I'm no NBA guru, it just seems bizarre.

Keep in mind, you've got a guy in this very thread that thinks he's the goat even admitting he's more open than Katina during catholic confession.

Why do people try to find an excuse for Steph's success? I mean you whine about him not being guarded, have you seen the man when he is? It really doesn't matter. For the people saying he's better than MJ please stop. He's not that but he's far and away the best shooter of all time.

1. Truth
2. Truth. However, a 28 foot open shot > a contested 24 foot shot.
3. Truth. But if Steph is shooting 70 percent, you might want to have someone else shoot. You might want to double him when he's hot.
4. Truth
5. Truth, but I don't think people quit as much in the 90's. If you ran into 15 moving picks a game with no calls, you might want to say "screw it" too.
6. Truth.
7. If he's shooting 70 percent from three, then give him a layup. He has a higher efficiency rating from 28 feet - 50 feet, then making 100 percent of two-point shots. His overall three-point percentage efficiency is almost as high as his layup efficiency.
