This is my statement as Commissioner of the NJFCA and it is ON the record.

I believe It is unfortunate and unacceptable that we have reached this point with regards to future of RU Football. We are a Big 10 football program with administrative leadership that is not operating commensurately.

How you can proceed this far into negotiations with Greg Schiano, obviously knowing there was a possibility that you would not capitulate to all the requirements he felt necessary to re-build and successfully run a Big 10 football program, without having a plan B & C demonstrates an alarming lack of competence on many levels.

We are weeks away from early signing day, with a frustrated fan base, a current roster of players contemplating transferring, future prospects losing confidence & prominent donors publicly announcing the termination of their future financial support.

The fact these events could not be forecasted by the RU administrative leadership makes it abundantly evident they unfortunately lack the depth, foresight and understanding that is required to lead a decision making processes of this magnitude.

At this point I believe the only option is for someone in a position of authority to ask Coach Schiano back to the negotiating table and complete the deal they initiated. There literally is no other choice as a result of their lack of effective planning. Hopefully someone in a position of leadership at RU will quickly come to this realization while the situation can still be rectified.

Thank you! Really a lot more at stake here than us disgruntled fans. Hope someone over there with authority has the sense to rectify this disaster in the making.

John, I hope you put this on the NJFCA.org website. If your organization threatens to move your meetings to another college, that may ring in some ears too. Just a thought.

For people who may not know what the NJFCA is, it is the New Jersey Football Coaches Association which includes high school coaches from all 21 counties.

honestly, why would anyone on a HS staff take sides--seems kind of unprofessional to me--as a private citizen yes--he can not act like his opinion is that of that whole program

You honestly expected Rutgers would "capitulate"? (Your word choice). Sorry, but I think that is nuts.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say there is no plan B. You don't think they're going to hire a coach for next year?

And here’s another reason why people question whether we belong in the B1G...

People have NO IDEA how a big time program is run and how the whole state needs to be on board !!! It is like they are in some time warp where they think our upcoming games are Bucknell, Richmond, and Maine.

So he won’t give the new coach a chance?
The SCHOOL won't give the new coach a chance. They're committed to putting an FCS team into the Big Ten East and any coach that would contemplate sending his players to this shitshow would be betraying the trust of his kids.

Well here is your answer folks, they don’t want another coach other than Schiano so that list is out the window and I will say it again!!! The other coach who is not Schiano is set up to fail !! PERIOD

There is no plan B I mean they are looking at assistant coaches with ZERO HEAD COACHING EXPERIENCE , I think people are tired of the cheap show and waiting for a coach to develop into a Head coach before he can learn to develop players . Recruiting is easy but if you can’t develop players then forget it , your waisting time and money On a coach who still learning the ropes via Chris Ash

This is proceeding exactly as Barchi and Hobbs planned from the start. Bait and switch. Call in Greg. Call in Butch. That was to make it look like they were serious about going big here. That was never the intention. I'm sure the hafley has been lined up from the start.

We have been rick rolled bigtime.

Why does nobody see through this sham?

LOL - I wouldn't "nobody". Many of us see through the smoke.
