Refs called way too many fouls on everyone. 50+ free throws with eight minute quarters. Most called in the second half and just ruined a good game to watch.

God that was slow!

We are about the same as we were last year, maybe slightly behind. Still a good team, just haven’t taken the leap to great like I hoped we might. Talent is definitely not an issue, but it’s easy to forget this is still a pretty young team and it’s Year 1 under a new coach.

My early hunch is Nikki probably isn’t as good of a coach as Vic, but not sure it’s fair to expect that of her, and she can still be a good coach here. Vic is GOAT in all sports in our history so it’s going to be hard for anyone to match what he did.

Given everything that has happened this year and how disjointed the schedule has been, it's probably hard to get any consistency going. Give NMP a full regular off season and a regular schedule and it'll be a lot easier to see where we stand.

Coach McCray Pinson stood up the whole game so I’m sure that was the difference***

Probably won't be the same level of fan interest without Vic either. She's got some big shoes to fill.

There was no one we could have hired that would be as good as Vic. Those days were fun, but they are over for that program. I still think Nikki can be a good coach here and get us into the tournament regularly. It's probably not fair to expect more than that of anyone.

I thought we played very well against an undefeated team on the road. Went cold shooting late in the game but defense bailed us out. Committed too many fouls late and had two players foul out, but we had a big enough lead to where it didn’t hurt us. Very good win to open SEC play.

Back in whatever year it was that Vic and Rick Ray was hired, I heard them both speak at a Road Dawgs Tour event.
Had no idea who either one was other than RR came from Clemson.
VS spoke first for maybe 10 min then RR for maybe 15-20 min.
I said to the guy next to me after that part of evening was done that’s we should have hired Shaffer for the men’s team.

We're an offensive train wreck. Just no team play. Defense is still good but not at the same level. We've gone from a top 5 program to top 10 maybe.

An offensive trainwreck? We run the same, if not better sets than under Vic. Sidney Cooks to Jessika Carter in the Hi-Lo is deadly. And we have 3 players who can get their shot anytime they need to. If you don't like Nikki, fine. But say that instead of making up stuff.

State has had trouble with Georgia for 2 straight seasons. Georgia has some big girls and matches up with our size. Very similar results to what Vic accomplished last year.
