Not a fan of Caleb at point guard. No ability to penetrate. Big fan of many aspects of his game and I think we need to get him more looks from 3.

If Geo isn't gonna start, I'd like to see Jacob or paul.

Would also like to see him off the ball but he does seem to be getting better up top. Imo.

I thought it gave us a good offensive punch having Caleb come off the bench. But he’s been playing better than Geo since he came back from the injury, so we really need him starting. Our offense would never find any rhythm with JY starting at PG. And Paul is, at least for this year, a bench player.

Geo or Caleb IMO. I doubt Pike messes with what has been working.
I agree with this. The only way I would start Geo, while his thumb is still healing, is if Pike thinks he needs Geo to stay warmed up to be effective. Some guys are better off the bench than others.

You guys are nuts, now is not the time for experimenting! We need to be laser focused to beat Purdue for the first time in almost 50 years. Caleb starts, Geo and JY significant minutes

It's Caleb or Geo. It will be interesting to see if he just sticks with Geo off the bench for a little longer or if he gives him the start after that big 3. Caleb has been playing better over this last stretch so he might not want to show him the bench especially with the way he been rebounding too which you know coach loves to see

When Geo is healthy, he's the starter. Outside a very small handful of offensive and defensive plays, he has been poor since coming back from the injury. Caleb does a lot of things very well, but he isn't a point guard. Paul is better at getting into the paint off the dribble, but I don't like the thought of Paul and Montez on the floor at the same time (the 2 guys most limited on offense).

Feel like the current starting 5 are always starting slow. I think Pike hasn’t changed it for the sake of consistency or that is pikes top d unit. Not sure.

I would start JY and geo and take Yeboah and mathis off. But hey thats me, I like offense.

The starting 5 to start the season was Geo, Caleb, Mathis, Harper and Johnson.

Yeboah then replaced Caleb.

Caleb replaced Geo when he got hurt.

Soon, the starting 5 will be Geo, Mathis, Harper, Yeboah and Johnson.

I am not changing the lineup, but the last 2 home games had 10-2 for Minnesota and 9-2 Nebraska leads. That is not because Geo isn't starting, it is an emphasis on getting Yeboah, Mathis and Myles touches early in each half.

McConnell and Mathis have hit some important shots during these 1st 4 to 5 minutes of each half. Those lifts have been important in keeping the scoring balanced.

Don’t mess with it. Caleb has been consistent with mid range. Open 3s and boards.

Caleb has stepped up. Just great hustle and enough offense to make it work. It’s him or Geo. Caleb’s D and Geo’s thumb gives Caleb the edge right now. Always go with experience.

Seton Hall and Minnesota does not necessarily agree.

As I said in another thread, outside of Myles this team has no true starters. Every game we seem to have a different high scorer/re bounder/assist leader. There are not 4 guys significantly better players than the 4 other guys that play. We are the definition of a balance team. Can you pick tonight's high scorer?

Good point. We have 6 guys that can score 15+ pts/game: Harper, Myles, Yeboah, Geo, Young, Caleb. They've all done it, and no one would be surprised if any of the above did it again.

How about this, I don't like Caleb getting run at the PG spot. PG minutes need to be Geo, Paul and Young, with Geo and Young also getting minutes at the 2 spot.

Big fan of Caleb, but his minutes need to be at the 2 and 3 spot.

But is Geo Wally Pipp?

Very nice internet hot take. If Geo looks good in practice, he starts. His smarts; his energy; the key plays, and not just the two late 3's against Nebraska. The team has usually played better with him in there, though he has a very occasional poor game. As soon as he is ready, he starts.

100% Geo time.We need a strong start as Purdue will be hungry. He should be near heathy now and will be confident based upon the end of Nebraska. He is our leader and should be out there to start now to bring us to our destiny
