I thought we'd see Johnson in there. Guess coach likes the match up problem that Thiam creates at the 2 and plans to run Johnson at the 1 and 2.
My real surprise is Getty over Diallo. A lot of times, if it's close the 5th year transfer get short shrifted. It's already a tall line up w/o him.

I believe Diallo would have to improve a lot from last year to be out there as he was a liability. I wonder how much of his poor play was his injury and how much was his talent/inexperience.

True, but the staff has had nothing but good stuff to say about Gettys. I wasn't surprised just because of that.

The lineup begs the question if two point guards can play together. Not always easy for a lead guard to be off the ball....and I am not talking about egos or personality

Diallo was a little behind Shaq from what I saw and have heard....he will take longer to develop the hands and foot speed on defense after that injury....Shaq is night and day better than last year, but still will have those moments when you wonder if he'll be consistent enough. I can see Shaq making a huge leap after this season, this year will be a developmental season of building confidence and stamina to play disciplined on both ends of the court....Diallo will need to show that as well.

Mike Williams will earn playing time by hitting open jumpers when he gets his opportunities.
