I will reiterate my post from earlier, Diaco has run a base 4-3 the past 3 years at UConn. There is nothing other than conjecture that Diaco is going to transition to a 3-4, especially as a base defense at Nebraska. I personally expect Diaco's 2017 defense to look awful similar to Pelini's Big Ten defenses scheme wise, a 4-3 2 gap read and react scheme that rarely gets pressure and doesn't force many turnovers.

I hope I am proven wrong, but here's Diaco's defenses in takeaways and sacks

In the game I streamed online from last year they were most certainly running 3-4. Like most 3-4 units, they alternated between odd and even fronts about 50/50, but they were in 3-4 a lot regardless of what they called themselves on their depth chart.

Oh my, did you just mention Pelini's read and react D???? We may be feeling buyers remorse, I hated Pelini's D.

If I recall correctly when Pelini defense went odd front, it was usually in nickel or dime and they were in a 3-3-5 or 3-2-6. When Diaco goes to a 4 man front he is also in a nickel but it's a 4-2-5, where they take out an outside backer and replace him with a DB.

Not that it matters. But the opponent dictated some of the fronts.
