If you went to Rutgers, what was the starting five your freshman year? If you didn’t go to Rutgers, the starting five the year you became a fan?

1970: John McFadden, Bob Wentzel, Gene Armstead, Steve Kaplan, Jim Snodgrass. (Not 100% on last one)

I think that was the starting 5 back then under Wenzel

Farmer Rosario Chandler Echineque N’Diaye I think?

Can’t remember if Inman actually started in big East play. Coburn next guard off the bench.

Although grew up a fan so I always associate my first Rutgers team with Shields Douby Webb Axani/Hill Lamizana

Bailey, Anderson, Troy, Strickland, Duncan. That was opening night. Duncan was quickly replaced by Brown and left the team

1998-1999. Hodgson & Billet’s senior years. Dahntay Jones & Rashod Kent’s frosh years. Can’t remember the starting five — maybe Hodgson, Billet, Jones, Greer, E. Johnson?

The first Rutgers team I remember well was 1982, also my first year as a season ticket holder. Ellerbee, Brunson, Black, Tillman and Hinson.

Hard to remember, was a crap year. Going to guess Douby Shields Webb Joynes Bailey. But I thought Webb only ran the point the prior year and I'm not sure who else would've run it.

Starting guards were john battle, Brian Elerbe
Center Andre Bell
Forwards
I’m pretty sure Chris Remley started every game. I believe the other forward was a combo of Eric Riggins, Ed Zucker and Steve Perry. Not sure but I think Perry started more games the. The other two guys

First season I started going (I was 6), Bob Wenzel was a freshman. The starting lineup I think was Brittelle, Stewart, Greacen, Goetz, & McFadden ?..
My Dad knew Coach Foster very well, in fact when we were down at Greensboro for the 1976 Regionals, we visited coach Foster at Duke on the Friday in between the Thursday (UCONN) & Saturday (VMI) games. We walked around the campus, and he was telling us about this kid from Connecticut who was entering out of his junior year in high school, Mike Gminski. 2 seasons later they went to the national final.
I do remember in that RU 68-69 season the Cheerleaders spelling out NIT on the floor, as I think they were 21-3 that year, but lost to Tennessee in the opening round. I do remember going to the Garden for that. The next few seasons I kept a scorebook, which I still have..

Hope that was an auto-correct typo. Rigging and Sucker?

Java- John started but Penhall came in quickly. He had a great corner jumper. Stewart could not play in the Tennessee NIT game, which was a sellout at MSG. Bill Justus torched Rutgers. Great team. Top 10 Rutgers team.

The starting five my first year on the banks (1984-85; I graduated in '87)...

C - Lloyd Moore
F - Eric Riggins
F - Chris Remley
G - John Battle
G - Brian Ellerbe

I became a fan in 1975-76 when I was in 6th grade.

Same as RC 64’s ‘60-‘61 team. I was a senior at a New Brunswick HS, but also attended some games before that and wrestling matches

Did Steve Perry get any starts for that team?
