Just adding a few Kentucky names to the mix: Mark Pope and Travis Ford. Both have experience and it would be good to see a Wildcat get the job.

Travis Ford? Bwahahahaha. Yeah, let's hire the biggest d*ckhead to ever play for KY as our coach. You think Cal makes slights about the fans...just wait until you hear what Ford thinks about Kentuckians...

Holtman would worry me. I liked Tubby but I believe Holtmann would be Tubby after the title. Looking at things now we all would take that I bet Though.
I was at the OSU-Purdue game Thursday. OSU's "play" at the end of the game looked exactly like a John Calipari-coached play.

There are some really comical names being thrown around in this thread. Everyone here complains about Cal’s offense, but then throws out names of coaches who aren’t playing modern basketball either. There are two coaches currently in the SEC who are playing modern basketball that I’d like to see us play, one of which coached circles around Cal today.

If I’m the GM of the Celtics who just went to the NBA Finals, I don’t think I’d want to go to college.

But yeah who wouldn’t want to have Stevens? Who wouldn’t want to have Donovan? But reality is, you’re going to get someone like Musselman, Oats, Drew or some other B name I can’t think of.

People should cool on Stevens.
He did great at Butler, but he did it under the radar where it’s not in the limelight. Kinda like Shaka Smart at VCU really. Nobody knows what he could actually do in a blue blood program.

Wright and Donovan passed that test in my eyes. Especially Wright at Villanova, which is not a blue blood, and still aced the test at the highest level. Guess what, he’s not coaching at the present time.

Some of Kentucky's best coaches weren't exactly known as humble or nice guys.

I like Jay Wright and Donovan. But i would prolly try to get Ima Udoka from the Celtics. He's young, and was who Brad Stevens picked to coach the Celtics. He has to be teed off at the Celtics for suspending him.

tommy lloyd is a billy clyde hire. he is 2 seasons deep in head coach.
brad stevens?
not sure why your list starts there....
jay wright has been the best name mentioned here.
billy donovan would be a close 2nd.

But both of those are both a distant 2nd and 3rd to
Coach Cal.

I’d be thrilled if we can get Pitino back
Adulterer and paid to have an abortion fine. Amazing how those to behaviors are completely acceptable in a Kentucky basketball coach but if a Kentucky candidate for office did that all hell breaks loose.

Wright, Donovan then Bennett. Not a huge fan of Bennett’s style, but the guy is a really good coach. I don’t know much about Vogel and Lloyd. Not sold on Holtmann, Oates and Musselman. Pitino would be an option for 5-8 years. IMO

This sounds like a bunch of people talking about what they are going to buy if they win the lottery.

I hit the billion I’ll buy out his contract on one condition I get to pick the next Coach. I’ll put a poll up on this board to help with my decision

Donovan is as laughable as Stevens. Stevens is not going to leave a GM job in Boston to move to Lexington, KY and jump out on the recruiting trail. Same with Billy. Why would he leave a head coaching NBA job in Chicago for Lexington? We are going to outbid Reinsdorf? Yea...
Billy D only makes 4 mill a year to coach Chicago, so yes UK can and would definitely outbid Chicago. I'm fairly certain Cal makes more than every NBA coach besides Pop. Anyways Billy D is a great coach but I personally would have a hard time knocking on his door a 3rd time after he has turned us down twice, but he is a hell of a coach.

Erik Spoelstra - heat missed their window.

Up tempo style
NBA cred
Lol no way.

Bennet would get run out of town faster than **** running that offense. Jay Wright is the most delusional name even over Stevens. Jay wright didnt just retire at Villanova to take the UK job a few years later when hes turned us down thrice.

Only way I take a Pitino back is if he leaves in say two years. Gets the program back on track and hangs it up. He’s too damn old and will buckle under the pressure. He also has to apologize for his behavior at Louisville and for flipping off the fans at Rupp. No more “coach above the fans” crap here.
