I like Mathis. I see him as a more athletic Mike Williams. He plays intense defense and mixes it up with the big boys. I believe his shot will improve as his confidence grows. Look at much better he has been with his FTs since the beginning of the season and when he was forcing his shots as a selfish player. Huge turn around in only 12 games.

reading this thread, I see Harper will be our best player by the end of the year, and Mathis is an outright stud......:cool2: gotta start wearing shades

I think McConnell deserves to start this coming Saturday. It might make other guys to step up their game.

These are older references, but Mathis seems somewhere between Dahntay Jones and Sam Sanders.

I was one who thought he (McConnell) wasn’t ready, but had potential. After the last few games however he has shown he can step up now. I also noticed at practice the tremendous reach and fast first step he has, which gives him a tremendous upside down the road!..Harper is probably the team’s best shot for an NBA player, as he already has very good basketball sense. Needs to work on shooting and conditioning, but I also see lots of upside here.
