My daughter has moved in to a house in the Cotton District and Multiplex is gosh awful. The cable dvr box is 2 feet wide and they just left it dangling down the wall. A little modem sits on floor. Second floor internet is so slow and third floor is non existent. Bedrooms use coax cables. They did not provide cables.
Bubba at their 800 number suggest a box in each room for $7.00 extra per and a booster for internet, its extra too..

My question is what are my options? Other than these idiots?

One thing I would check is of CSpire has some options at her address. Back in December, they emailed customers about a wireless fiber offering in Starkville. I called about it and they responded that it wasn't available to me. I think it acts like a cellular signal but with a fixed receiver that mounts outside. It states to have 100 Mbps speeds and cost $49.99 a month. They also offer gigabit fiber in a few neighborhoods for $90 or so. I know it is down South Montgomery in a couple spots, but not sure about in the district. AT&T will also be available there. If their speeds are high enough, they may be an option. In Starkville, they are usually pretty slow. Maxxsouth is usually pretty bad about coming in well under what they say they are selling you with relation to speed. Maxxsouth is what we have. It is strange. I can stream on 3 or 4 TV's at once without a problem, but if all I am doing is browsing the web on a single laptop, it can struggle mightily. Their rental fees are crazy. You can buy a modem at Walmart that pays for itself in 6 or 7 months.

I hope this wall of text helps at least a little.

Seldom will you have more than 1 choice of providers in any neighborhood in Starkville. There are exceptions but it's usually Maxxsouth, or AT&T or nothing with a little CSpire sprinkled in. I'm stuck w/ MaxxSuck which has never once given me anything close to the download speed I pay for. They are fairly reliable, decent phone reps but just slow

internet service I'd recommend cspires fiber 1. I've had it for almost 2 years never a problem always up and running and so far customer service has been really good. TV wise I suggest Roku or Amazon fire sticks inexpensive with lots of options.

Starkville has two different gigabit fiber options, which is pretty unheard of. MaxxSouth is a little slower but is pretty much everywhere. Cspire is a little faster but is only in select neighborhoods.
Subscription cable services... Can't help you, don't know anybody who still does that.

I have Maxsouth and haven’t had any issues and is 30 a month ..I’m only there 30 nights a year but I’m able to stream all I want and my security cameras have always worked sooo I’d have to say it’s better the $60 minimum that AT&T wanted.....
