Staring lineup

I think you have the right starting five to start off the season. The only one I think could possibly be incorrect is Quickley, but I expect him to start and by season's end, Herro or Baker might share his minutes or one of them has an outside shot at starting over IQ. Not selling IQ short, but I think the other 2 are gamers who are even better shooters than IQ. IQ's handles and defense may keep him in the starting lineup all year though. I also think EJ could be a starter before the season ends. If KJ's jump shot becomes reliable from 3-prange, I could see EJ starting at the 5, PJ at the 3 if his handles and outside shot improve, and Travis at the 4 which is his natural position. As for Green, he's supposedly improved a lot, but he's a liability on defense because of his size and lack of strength. I think for that reason that IQ is more likely to start.Just my guess based on how much emphasis Cal places on defense.

My controversial and unpopular take. PJ is overrated. Jmo. Hope he comes out and dominates and shows improvement but I need to see it. I'll be all on board if he does. Last you to me:

I agree with the first lineup you listed as the best lineup.
Last five minutes of a tight game, you'll see those five with Green for backcourt depth and Montgomery for frontcourt depth. That's the main seven guys.

For one, Quickley isn't starting over green, don't understand why people think he that will. Secondly, we won't platoon in the regular season, but I could see an occasional platoon in the Bahamas just to give everyone an equal chance at showing what they can do, if not a platoon then a rotation where even the 10th man Richards gets 13-15 mpg. I think the first substitution will be a platoon 5for5, and the rest of the game being regular substitution patterns to mix and match combinations.

Would be a scary lineup if Johnson could shoot the 3 well enough. He would certainly be able to get to the goal any time he wanted to against anyone trying to guard him but with the amount of guards we have I don't see it happening.
