I've been to a few of these - @ Ohio State, @ Rutgers, SLC for the NCAA tournament, B1G hoops tournament in NYC. They are never a good value for $ but Morty and Phillips are usually there, plus the band and Willie. The Alumni Association has stepped up their game over the past 5 years or so; the event is always well done and you leave proud to be associated with NU.
Well, to be fair, this $30 group rate is available to anyone on their website. But yeah I found that too and we are doing the same thing. A group of ~25 or so, we will be right above you in Section 230 most likely.
We just got 27 in section 230. There are still some available in 229 and further back in 230 - the more Cats fans in that corner, the merrier.
I got my tickets in section 131 to be a little closer to the purple fans but with stadium seats.
They've gotten better over the years. They are decent. It sort of depends on what you are looking for. We tend to just do our own tailgate, get the 20-30 people we know or whatever together, then you are outside in the parking lot, have space to throw a football around, and get to banter with the locals / hosts a bit. But in some cases for big events it's too big of a thing to pass up - e.g. for SLC that was an absolutely awesome experience, an enormous NU reunion. We also did the Army one after Sailgating up the Hudson, and that was an absolute blast. I sense there will be a lot of purple at this game.
I think the answer is anywhere near the 126-130 / 226-230 corner. If we get enough of us there, maybe we can keep overflowing further and further. I think it'll be a live and loud NU contingent, if we are grouped together we can concentrate our efforts.
