This game was even on rebounds with 3 min left in regulation. Stanford goes +5 in on offensive rebounds in the last 8 min to get the extra chances to win the game.
I was screaming at the TV - no hustle at all. Every loose ball, every rebound in the last few minutes. Then they panicked. Hope they can clean this up because we’re headed to a 5-6 seed or worse if not.

Banghart lost me today.

Dominating inside so she changes to four guards in the last few minutes. Cannot get a rebound and lets the guards drive and throw up stupid shots.

Henderson gets a minutes and TQ who basically won our last game gets no minutes.

Beyond frustrated.

Blame me. I’ve now tuned into 3 women's bball games in the 2nd half where we collapse after having a lead. This weekend might be telling me that I need to stop watching live broadcasts of Heels men’s and women’s games.

This a game we definitely shouldn't have lost. I don't know what CB has to do to get this team to make FTs but something has to change.. I don't know what you do with RK but she can't be on the floor in crunch time when you need points. IN is a mirror of AU, can't shoot but can't afford to not have her in the game because she does so much and creates easy transition point off her D

FTs and guard play. if we can't get that under control this team isn't going anywhere.

Fanatic, we're not going anywhere with CB as our Coach. It is, what it is!

She is not going anywhere. We are stuck with her. I have not been to a game this year and will not go. Until the fans make it known loud and clear that this is not acceptable, nothing is going to change. Where are all the Banghart cheerleaders. She is the worst coach!
nice to hear from you again.

I continue to support our coach and this loss does not change that. regardless it is a conversation for late season/early off season.

With that said, I’m not going to debate much the merits of this game; it was a bad loss, a game we needed for a chance at the ACC crown.

If you play in the ACC, then that means you are capable of making 3's. You do not leave a player open on a 3 and expect them not to make it. You must contest all shots period. I did not see BT play at all during the first half. Is she hurt? or is her conditioning not there.

Blanca played some. Not much but she got some time. I don't think her legs are game ready.
Toomey and Harris are both probably ahead of her right now.

Both games were lost because of FT's. This falls on the players and not the coach. Both games should have been over during regulation and going to OT would not have happened if the players would have made their FT's. These players made them during their high school careers. They should be able to make them now. Some people my say it is a mental thing. I know this can be fixed. What I do know is that there are people / experts out there that can help teams overcome free throwing shooting. They need to seek such a person to come in and help solve this problem.

CB is to tied to RK. I'm so tired of announcers talking about RK as if she is playing good ball when she isn't
Yeah, I don’t know what the deal is with RK, but she’s not playing well. Time for some time on court adjustments!

Agreed. Nivar did not play well in 2nd half, selling out for steals too often vs playing playing fundamental defense!

Next up is a depleted ND team, let's see if they are able to get back on the winning track. It was mentioned that State and Duke have figured it out, this does not bold well for the women team as the season progresses if they do not improve. Where is the killer instinct to put teams away in regulation? Youth can be an issue as well, but improvement is needed with them.

Is that game at ND? If so, we will have a hard time beating them there when the only play six players the whole game.

Yes the game is in South Bend, another loss forthcoming for the women since ND lost to an improve Duke team today, and they will be desperate.

I think Henderson would have been a person that I would have put on her. She is 6 feet 1, quick, etc. Remember the Louisville game when she guarded one of their players that was going off at first or TQ.
Agreed. Henderson/Hull need more minutes. Our 3 lead guards are eating too many minutes without enough production. Also we’re much easier to guard when RK, LG, and EA are on the court together. We have length and athleticism on the bench.

FIRE COURTNEY BANGHART!!!
She seems to decide who she is going to play a head of time and makes zero adjustments in game. We don’t run an effective 1/2 court offense. She plays kids who are ineffective, while players with potential watch and ponder where they will play next year.

She is under contract for 2.5 more seasons. Hoping we buy her out and hire a dynamic basketball mind.

At this point, we should be surprised if we actually win a game against a decent team (P4 team in top 50 NET) let alone beat them handily. So much for playing “tough” teams early in the season. We see how that’s paying off for us.

How do you not win when you turnover a team 22 times and shoot 30 FTs. Especially add in that their best player fouled out early. Absurd. Approach to in-game adjustments, line ups/substitutions, and FT improvement must change. Like why did TH not play more. And I get playing through CT and NH, but why not also keep pushing EA to score when she was in a groove. We need a guard to step up and look to score aggressively.

Our best wins are Fairfield (40 Net), South Dakota State (51 NET) and Kansas St (61 NET). Thats inexplicable with the talent on this team.

I really want to think CB has what it takes and after hearing her talk after Louisville I wanted to gave her the benefit of the doubt a little bit. But the results just don’t show that. No matter what the reasons the coaching staff just aren’t getting it done (while several others find a way to win with less talent and/or new and young teams. See Kentucky and Kenny Brooks for a good example). CB can explain it away but at this point the results speak for themselves.

Athletic dept may not have the same expectations that we do but at some point there’ll come a point that it’ll be hard for the results to justify the money that goes into the dept.

Goes without saying but thanks to our lack of Q1 and Q2 wins, we probably can only afford one and max two more losses in conference play to host. And while I hope not but based recent results there’s a higher chance that we actually finish with 8 or more losses in conf.

Really, really disappointing loss. I lost service when we were up 4 late in the fourth but just had this feeling that we wouldn’t pull it out.

The ft shooting is inexcusable - I’m not sure what it is but there’s an issue with the way we’re coaching confidence from the line.

Indya has some great strengths but just is not a good or savvy enough player to be the best player on a team in contention. Ciera isn’t ready, Elina is f consistent enough, and Nyla is better suited as a number two.

I’m a huge fan of CB the person, and disagree with the idea that she’s the “worst coach,” but finishing 4-6 in the acc and making the sweet 16 is not and should not be the ceiling at Carolina.

Really hoping this is a young team that will markedly improve by march, a la the 2011 mens team, but the coach will need to have the guts to play certain more tenured players less and rely more on freshmen. We’ll see

Agree. And in the ACC which is the weakest of the P4 conferences by a decent margin might I add.

EA played good and IN played good on the defensive end. We just gave this one away. The same as Louisville. I can understand if Stanford was shooting lights out like SMU did yesterday against our men's team. SMU men shoot 71% in the second half against our men yesterday. The ended up shooting 60% for the game. I can accept a lost when a team is shooting like that. Today's game was different, we had them and we just did not close the game out. CB did pound the ball into NH which IMO was the right thing to do. Stanford did not have an answer for this. We lost because of FT's and this is on the players not the coach or coaching staff. I do agree with the Pat Summit approach in practice with the FT shooting. I know that work when I played. You get tired of running at some point.

The team has to identify a leader- bottom line. Someone to step up and say- we are not going to lose this game. We had Lexi, Lys, and Maria last year. The team had no one today. I thought it was going to be Indy after a few games this year. Somebody on the team has to step up whether it is a transfer, starter, role player, etc.

There are major, major concerns defensively atm, especially with reserves. Somebody needs to step up, now. My suggestion defensively would be to go back to the amoeba zone we utilized a few years ago. What we’re doing right now simply isn’t working. Revisit the switching or abandon it every time.

Hats off to NH and CT. A combined 13-20 from the floor, (13-16 from 2) 34 points
