How did the Rodriguez thing turn out? He got out as fast as he could and did so in the worst way. As for the Holgrosen hire and the HCIW fiasco. That was messy and just as irritating as the Runaway Rod situation. So yes IMO next hire should be a proven HC. But Holgrosen is not going anywhere and I'm fine with that because the overall health of the football program is very good.

WV ain't got the cash to hire a 'proven' coach. Hail, be content with what you have! We have a solid team this year that provides entertainment every time they take the field. Tune in today as the Mountaineers take on Iowa State. I plan to eat a little Chinese takeout as I watch the Mountaineers on my dadgum version of a Jumbotron. Wake up Amurika! Warez

You won't get better unless you try. The guy is 1-10 is his last 11 games against ranked teams. He got beat by a 2nd year coach on a neutral field. There are people out there that can do better than this clown. The last couple of wvu coachs have already proven that 7 wins is attainable. If you're happy with the results then fine but don't pay anymore money for it. You can dump this guy and hire someone else to produce the same results for less money.
in DH defense he has already proven 10 win seasons are possible twice

I didn’t because I was there today. Drove 2 hours. There are idiots on this site that won’t drive an hour to go to a game haha. Then play internet hoopie tough guy online LOL
I am a little nerdy when it comes to this....but if I go to any athletic event...I record it so I can watch it again with the announcers and things I might have missed in the stadium.

Dana is not my favorite WVU coach but I do not see any reason to make a change. We are not in the Big East(AAC) any more - we are playing big boy football. Like we did before the BE was raided by the ACC.

That's not nerdy. I do it for every game in Mountaineer Field so that I can see if my eyes got it right without instant replay. Plus, it helps me analyze the good and bad of the game from a WVU perspective. It's a good trait.

I know you do. You tell us all the time.

You are much too busy and important to spend time on a college football message board.....oh wait...

I’m Blue Blood. You over the hill. Facts are facts. In my next life I’m thinking about writing little sport tidbits for a bunch of local newspapers that no one reads. I heard you can make like 20k per year doing that. I realize any idiot can write for small newspapers but I figured I’d raise the standards of local writing.

Dana is not a loser. He has a better winning percentage than our former coach and in fact has only one losing season since he took over as HC. By all accounts he has done a very solid job at WVU. I And by the way, have you looked at our recruiting class. The last I looked we were rated as having the 18th best recruiting class in the country. That is the highest rated class we have ever had at WVU. A loser couldn't do that.

Wow...i started watching WVU in the late 80's...Major Harris era.....and it absolutely BOGGLES MY MIND how anybody can say that being top 25 is settling for mediocrity....considering the higher level of competition this team plays.....Dandy Don only had 7....count them....7 wins against top 15 teams in 20+ years. He's a Hall of Famer....DH has 6...tied with RichRod. Im failing to see mediocrity except from fans that expect a NC every year....despite WVU only ever playing for ONE....thirty years ago.....I bleed blue and gold, but am also realistic about this.....

You are wasting your typing skills here. Some people think a coach winning in a watered down, dying BE compares to a real football conference like the big 12. They dream of the days playing Rutgers, so fla, UConn cinci etc and think the big 12 is just as easy. The old BE was a stepping stone for college coaches. Big 12 coaches don’t leave unless they are shown the door. The majority of big 12 teams have equal or better talent than us and it’s not a knock on this staff. Recruiting to wvu is a very difficult job with few in state div 1 players. Wvu is fine. but holgs needs to take the next step and start winning against some of the upper rated teams in Conference on a more consistent basis. Going on the road and winning at kstate would be another good win.
Some people love to hate the HC but they might as well get used to him. He just signed an extension and will be here for a few more years.
