Will Bruiser and Barbee be back next year? I got think either one or the other will not be back next year.

Personally I've never cared for Justus or Barbee. Hated the addition of Flint this offseason as well.

Jai Lucas was a homerun hire. You add another recruiting monster next to him and then get a player development/modern thinking basketball guy to the staff and things can turn positive quickly.

Things are never as great/bad as they seem on any team, but great thing about basketball, doesn't take long to turn things around when it is this disgusting.

I wouldn’t be calling for anyone to leave immediately; allow time for everyone to process this season and to reflect on the last few months.

Personally, I think Tony receives a lot of unfair criticism—all for reasons I can not understand. I believe much of that stems from his unsuccessful stint at Auburn. He has done a nice job recruiting and really helps develop a solid defensive game plan for the team.

Cal has surrounded himself with “his guys” that have always been there for him. This will play an important role as—at least I hope this occurs—these are the guys who Cal trust and can really help influence him to make some necessary changes offensively and recruiting in terms of his overall strategy.

Recruiting personnel and offensive strategy is the most-important aspects for this offseason.

Case in point, see 2009 to 2010.

Brother @ralphdaltonfan, what do you think of Danny Manning as a potential add to the staff? I believe I've heard he and Cal are fairly tight, and he's had good offensive teams as a coach, plus having someone with (recent) head coaching experience on the staff is never a bad thing, and his being a big man with a legit NBA career, could he be a help in player development? Seems like he could check a lot of boxes of what we'd need in an assistant coach, but I defer to your knowledge in this department if you have any insight?

These guys say whatever Cal wants to hear. You really think freaking Tony Barbee is going to oppose anything Cal says?

“We should just sub at random with absolutely zero rational”. “Yes coach great idea I’ll pat whoever’s butt heads out there!”

It’s egregious for anyone to assume this; without definitively knowing or being there you have no idea what is said or discussed amongst the coaching staff.

This is the greatest tradition in college basketball and the number-one program in the country that suffered what is arguably the worst season in program history. Do I think there will be some difficult decisions made and tough conversations had? Absolutely.

It’s ***-nine for anyone to assume this coaching staff doesn’t care or are not angry about the result of the season.

After this season everything is on the table. I trust what needs to happen will occur, and I’m certain if something needs to be said it will be.

There definitely needs to be a shake up on staff and we've all seen that for awhile now. For those saying including Cal, ain't gonna happen so get over it. The buyout alone keeps him here for awhile yet. We need to back Cal and the kids, adjust the staff and get back on track. Crying about Cal isn't going to get you anywhere, sorry.

I think Justus and Barbee should hit the door. Justus missed on some good recruits and hasn't put a great team together yet with recruiting.

I think Bruiser can stay for a few more seasons.

Bring Derek Anderson and Coach O back.
This is an honest question. What does Derek Anderson bring to the table as an assistant coach? I think it would be great to bring him (or someone like him) in as the Director of Basketball Operations and let him work his way up, just like Strickland did. Just don’t think you bring a guy in with zero experience as an assistant at UK

DA would add some new blood, and some enthusiasm
Plus he has NBA experience as a player under different coaches
He could improve this horrible offense
He would be an energetic recruiter

Any and all of these things would be an improvement over the present group

I just cringe at the idea of giving someone an assistant coaching job at Kentucky who has no prior experience coaching or recruiting. I think having someone like DA around the staff would be great. Justus was thrown to the wolves way too early as a coach. I don't want to make that mistake again.

I don’t expect to have a whole new staff next season, but I do think we see one or two new faces. Kind of hard to bring everyone back after having this kind of season.

Hey, any of this group of could write their own ticket for next year. With this year on their resume, the sky is limit.

I’ll buy Barbee a train ticket, dude is useless
Barbee is very knowledgeable about zone defenses. If we had played that against Mississippi State we would have won going away. Mississippi State, other than one guard, is not a great outside shooting team and we could not defend the paint. So if we almost never utilize an obvious defense for games like we just played there is zero reason to have Barbee sitting on the bench.
