Is it too early to talk St. John’s? I don’t think so. Funny enough I am going to be just blocks away at a trade show at the Javits Center but can’t get to the game.

What can we expect? I know they generally give us a tough game and despite their record they gave Xavier a Game this week.

They have lost 11 in a row. Even though it's a road game, I would hope not to see us struggle to beat a team that has lost 11 straight.

St John’s is much better than their record indicates. Looks at the home margins against some quality teams. And they play sat at the garden against duke, they will be up for sure. Don’t sleep on this game, especially with UNC looming right after. We need to be focused or another stumble is likely.

Watched two St.Johns game this year and it looked like a street ball game. If Duke plays semi defense we win easily.

I haven’t seen St. John’s play at all this season. I would think we would be heavily favored though. Win this one and set our si6hhts on team cheat.

I remember reading that Mullin was the recruit K regretted missing out on the most. That always stuck with me for some reason.

Time for some revenge! (not that it's really needed or wanted, but it has a ring to it)

St. John's is always scary to me for some reason. We've played them before where they've been lousy and almost lost. I know this game is on the road, but are they still the last non-conference team to beat us in Cameron? And wasn't that like 17 or 18 years ago?

Again they lost to nova by 7 and also single digits to creighton and Xavier. We are not yet world beaters, especially on the road. I would not take any team slightly. I know, we as fans have no control, but hopefully our players have the right frame of mind.

Just like with everyone else, I am sure we will get their best shot. Really just want to see us focused on this game and continued improvement.

Every team that Duke plays scares me. These teams get so pumped up for us, then if they hang with Duke for a while, their confidence grows. This is a big game, and as mentioned, right before our first big showdown with the Holes. We need to come out of the gate firing on all cylinders.

Our OFC'S need a game easy on their heart, so please Duke, take care of business Saturday, if for no other reason than their health.

After the Bagley and Carter dunks they endure, they will feel so low, they'll have to lift up their t shirt just to brush their teeth.

I went to SJU. They are dangerous and capable of beating us if we let our guard down. This game worries me. Especially if we are looking ahead to next week. I think we will win, but we must not overlook them or let them hang around. This is their season. Duke 82, SJU 76.

If Duke is in a little trouble, and goes to zone D, I think we'll see another 19-2 run.

I'd like to see Grayson have a nice game in his last game in NYC in his career. Actually I'd like to see Grayson have a nice game anywhere, anytime.

I expect us to be an 8-10 pt favorite. I'd love to see good bench minutes and continued good energy and effort on the defensive end.

Any reason why we still play them? I know K and Mike Jarvis are friends but Jarvis has been gone from there for years

Could be the opportunity to play in MSG every other year, not that it couldn't be arranged otherwise...

They've been up and down a lot; maybe they're a good test when they're up and good for fine-tuning when they're down. I know K can make the most of it either way, but it does seem odd we'd play an inconsistent program so consistently.

We know we'll see bench minutes if it's a rout. W/ Quis, Javin, and AOC all needing to get back into form, we should see them, and Jack did everything he could to earn some burn last we saw him...

BUT! This might instead be a game where we try to simulate what the rotation may look like come March, in which case one of those first three off the bench might be held out for additional rest and we could roll with 7 as long as it's close. We'll know by halftime.

They seem to always play us well. It’s a bigger game for them than it is for us if that makes sense

agree with this. They already had this game with an asterisk. Now they have three asterisks behind this game after the year they are having. I believe Duke wins but it will be a physical game with some fireworks IMO. In their minds a V could Somewhat salvage the year. But Coach will not let them overlook this team and on to the next.

I'll be in MSG tomorrow and so will the Johnnies fans, they are a treat. One Final Four in 1985 yet they think SJU is an all time great program. "The Big East in the 80's blah blah blah...." See here at Duke we're still making FF's and winning national titles!

SJU faithful is not the most self aware group.
