Spring game thread

Remember this: There is very rarely any correlation between how a team looks in the Spring game and how it will look first game in the Fall. Or which players will be starters and which won’t.
QB a weakness? Sims is good and Casey will be back. These other guys won’t see the field.
Brand new offense. Brand new Defense. Fix the dropsies and turnovers and improve. Not going to be an overnight fix.
I’ve seen some good things from guys we needed to see good things from. We’ve seen the 5 deep. There were walk ons getting snaps and a shot in the first half.
Except I think this will be what our offense and defense looks like. Individual players who knows.

You think the offense and defense look they same all year as they do in the spring game?
I’m encouraged by Sims and Purdy. HH not so much but he’ll suffice as a 3rd or 4th option. The battle clearly is between Sims and CT
My expectations are always the same. It's just clear we're not going to meet them this year.
Very impressive interception to end it. Nearly as encouraging as his fumbled snap turnover.
Check downs & little runs with time expiring in the half. Led offense to zero points despite playing most snaps
Haarberg clear #2 until CT is back
Sadly on the 2nd one the punter probably makes the 1st if he runs left instead of right.

Players aren't defined by race. Their play is what defines them. Thus the hope the live up to the tradition we have created with white players.

Simple question has Nebraska ever had a black D Coordinator or center?
HH fumbled multiple snaps and lost at least one. The interception came on the last play against a prevent D trying to force one in. Neither Purdy or HH are gonna play unless CT or JS get hurt.
especially first year under a new coach and staff. the fumbles and drops very concerning though.
Haarberg - zero turnovers but 0-6 passing. One really egregiously bad drop on a dart, one batted down at the line. Led a touchdown drive.
Looked like he belonged physically
Purdy looked the same as he ever has. No juice whatsoever, 2 turnovers, zero points
Bonner looks like a player
Same old inconsistent Washington at the point of catch
Would be nice to see somebody (Betts) step up on the outside

Didn’t Austin play some center at times? College coaching jobs are merit based with a good deal of who you’ve worked with before thrown in. I’m not sure why anybody would have expected Frost or Riley to bring along anybody other than Chin and Banker. No doubt BC wishes he had gone outside his buddy pool
Purdy looks a lot like his brother. Marginal arm. Made good decisions. Scrambled for good gains when plays broke down. We could win games with Purdy. I have to see better out of his passing to think HH could.
