Its all relative, if RU were perrenial national championship contenders, we would have high numbers as well.

That's kind of a weird post. In the past I was one of those guys as I would take my son around and meet current RU stars who some became NFL stars. And because of that, RU has a nice little corner of signed memoribilia in the mancave. My son is a teen now and still enjoys meeting the players and getting autographs. Some people like to collect autographs for pleasure and/or profit. To each his own.
It's fine for kids but grown men sticking a pen in front of a teenager is kinda weird, but like you said, "to each his own" just like using the term "mancave" to each his own I guess. Lol

Yep..my little sanctuary in the house. Designed, built by me, and a fantastic place to have friends over to watch games and drink a few suds. Ever do anything similar for yourself? Personally chiding men getting autographs and using the term mancave isn't as strange as adult men LOLing on here....c'est la vie, or LOL in your terms.

Love the comments of some Rutgers supporters.

Rutgers will never pack the spring game; Rutgers will never compete, etc.

Strange. Really strange.

Why is it strange to say something very honest and true?
What is strange is people like you that think its important.

Yeah, I don't get this whatsoever. Even if we were winning National Championships, we'd never pack the Spring Game. It is a completely different environment in this state, just unique to the whole country. I looked at comments for the PUS Spring Game, and they had people coming from places where there's nothing else to do - rural areas in NC, PA, TN, etc. We don't have that here. There is so much in this state that competes for the residents' attention that it's amazing we get what we do given how little successful history we have.

And another thing I really don't get: what is your purpose in posting this? @LETSGORU91

I obviously was there, and you are obviously worse at predicting the weather. :boxing:
Last night was not a Southside Johnny show. It was an Upstage reunion Jam.

I don't recall Bruce showing up at a Southside show in well over 20 years.
Memorial Day Weekend 2001 to be exact.

I had inside info on it, but had to study for my CFA Level 2 the following week.

In hindsight, I should have gone.

Big and Rich DID play?

Concert would have been a great experience if warm sunny day. As it were, was impressed with Big and Rich. Funny if this were the 70's, think they would have been classified as southern rock. Sort of Molly Hatcher-ish. Great effort by RU. Hope they try again with better weather in years to come.

Here's my thought: Why not do the concert but in one of the parking lots or in the athletic glen. I have to think more people would wander over (with their adult beverage) and listen. On top of which, why they needed to clear the stadium after the women's lacrosse game is beyond me. Let people stay, there's no real setup. It seemed as it was overmanaged

we may not pack the house for the spring game, but on average we do
much better than the average program that has the game.... sure, there are the Alabamas, Penn states that draw incredible crowds.... but on a nice day we can get near 20,000, at least we did a few years ago....and this puts us way ahead of almost all the northeast teams.

RU has the best fanbase for college football in the Northeast for anyone not named The Cult. And that's with average to below average seasons of late.

which can be a minor selling point to impressionable recruits who go to multiple spring games in the east.... I believe BC, syracuse have very few
attendees for theirs, if/when they have tried

Ha! Do you really think a recruit is basing his selection of school on spring game attendence??
Are you one of those who also believe that the school unis play a big roll in recruiting too?

They often have bands in Athletes Glen and even in the yellow lot, you don't know they are there. I liked the band in the stadium.

Like in .00000000001%? Than I agree. Its probably 5,347 on the list of reasons why.

I would only add that if a impressionable recruit went to, lets say the Penn state spring game, and they had 70,000, then the Maryland one with,
obviously just a few fans, they might have a better time at the PU one, the fans maybe acknowledging said recruits...

don't make it out to anything more than that..... it is always about showing the recruit the school, and having them have a good time... ..... the school invites recruits to a spring game as one of many sales pitches

a big crowd can't hurt, but as you note, is not a difference maker

I know that but no offense to the bands in the Athletes Glen, they probably aren't as well known as a group such as "Big & Rich." But one step further, put them in an actual parking lot. I haven't seen bands in the yellow lot, but put them in the Scarlet lot or right on the North Plaza. Just a thought.
