The older I get the more I dislike daylight savings time just leave it standard time
Agreed but unfortunately I think if we want to quit it's going to have to change to permanent daylight savings time. However I am encouraged to see atleast a few on here that feel otherwise

No, it's the opposite. States can opt for full-year standard time (like Arizona and Hawaii), but they can't switch to full-year daylight savings time.

Personally I like daylight savings time, but I agree it doesn't serve any real purpose.

I guess I meant if permanent change, the majority would prefer daylight savings time. So if a law would be passed for permanency, they would find a way to make it daylight savings time permanent

Permanent DST is better, though I live on the east side of a time zone. Gets dark way too early in the winter.
Going tangent to this, I was reading a study about relative productivity of those in different areas of a time zone (east vs. west along about the same latitude). The areas compared were either Mobile or Huntsville, AL, vs. Lubbock, TX. They found those on the eastern edge of the timezone were more productive since they have an earlier sunrise but still worked later into the day. Stuff of that nature.

All this talk about global warming and then the government insists on mandating an extra hour of sunlight during the hottest months of the year

Same with deer crossings. Why do they always put them across busy highways???

I like DST. It allows for time to get golf league started earlier \ later into the year. Great to get xtra hours of light for outside hobbies.

I’m ok with sun later in the evening, but I’d also be fine with it being dark earlier and have a cold drink on the porch a little earlier.
I’ll survive.
