The number one thing we need to do as a university community is treat each other with sarcasm and condescension. If we can’t be patronizing and show disdain toward each other, who can we point those wonderful attributes toward? Especially on social media – there’s nothing like washing dirty laundry in public and showing superiority by eating your own.

....he wrote sarcastically and condescendingly, showing disdain to his own.

For fans of a school that loves to tout its literary laurels, they sure do lack the awareness of irony, even when it slaps them in the face.

And what good is discussion without personal insults and going for the jugular? No fun in that. Unity, togetherness, being of one mind to reach our potential? Don’t be ridiculous. Contempt, not compassion, is the only communication tool for those working toward a common goal.

2 sentences later...

Next, hire another mealy-mouthed chancellor who is just a figurehead and will let things flow like they are now.

I’m not gonna lie, I’ve always loved the “delusional heel” gimmick.

My friend is on the IHL board....

What he's saying is... Our forefathers were excellent at manipulating and weaponizing the state legislature to keep our foot on the throat of MSU.. and we need to get back to that pronto!

So in one breath earlier in that manifesto he laments that they've lost sight of the true task of the university which is to educate citizens and later he blatantly admits that for many decades Ole Miss has used politics to stymie growth at a state funded educational institution such as MSU... all in the name of football.

And yet we're the toxic fanbase.... 17 them forever.

and this post got me to thinking the story he told me last week....the "open forum" they had for opinions on the new UM chancellor.....he told me a few, but one that stood out was a female student who said that the new chancellor needed to be focused on having Ole Miss with a 0 carbon footprint in 10 years ...mentioned MSU was on track to do it by 2040 (i don't know if this is true) and that ole miss needed to do it in 10 because the earth will end in 12 years if not.....(i was like, no way.....these people live in Mississippi too?).....he also told me when he sees me next that he will have to tell me 'about the gang-banger that got up to give his opinion on the new chancellor'

- Also, student recruitment of Mississippi kids should remain an endeavor where Ole Miss is outworked and outflanked. We must continue to hear recruitment horror stories daily about kids who are contacted by such-and-such university weekly but hear from ours once in a blue moon, if at all. We must keep the attitude of come-here-if-you-want-but-we-aren’t-going-to-recruit-you. It’s the only way to growth and it keeps us "exclusive.

Lord help them if their student recruitment is as bad as ours. I recently (with my 17-year-old son) sat through the pitches from TAMU, UGA and The Barn, we have to up our game.

He's just inked a long winded diatribe over there, but I wanted to share this little nugget with you. It's further proof they have severe insecurity issues...

- We have to keep declaring our greatness when we aren’t great. We have to keep declaring our superiority to other schools when that era is long gone. We have to keep that long standing Ole Miss tradition of bragging when there’s little to brag about and the we-are-better-than-you lie that has been perpetuated for generations without much tangible proof.

The problem OM has is that everything they are known for is contrarian to most of society today. They maxed out 50 years ago. Every OM fan I know is pissed off that Col. Reb has been banned.

Here’s a true statement:

The more and more out of state students they admit that couldn’t get in to Georgia, Clemson, Texas, Alabama, and even Tennessee the dumber and less interested their alumni are becoming.

MSU is dominating the in state academic talent and that’s beginning to show up more and more.

This year almost 47% of OM student body is from out of State, compared to 35% for State. Those people will most likely graduate and go back home rather than stay in Mississippi and become part of the community, run for office, open businesses, etc.

They may find themselves having less and less influence in Mississippi as time goes on.
