I want to see several shut-outs a year and not just against the non-coms...

I think shutting out your opponent in todays game is a rarity but my hope is that this defense can hold opponents down in the low 20s for the entire season. If they do that then this D will have made huge improvements and allow our fan base to breath easier throughout the season.

I can live with 45-24 type games but these 54-48 type games weekly have become old. The Houston opener will give our fanbase a good view of how Grinches approach to defense is.

If the defense can tackle and make interceptions when the ball is in their hands I will be moderately pleased.

College football is now mostly about just outscoring opponents, not shutting them down.
But OU has lost games in recent years that were just one clutch stop away from victory. Just one. And this could have been achieved with only an average defense.

The defections of Tatum and Lott and the decision of Green may be a sign of them shying away from Grinch and his high expectations, which may be seen by these three players as too demanding. Not a statement, just a suspicion.

Still got 4 redshirt seniors up front, and they will all be our rotation players.
Mann, Overton, Faamatau, Gallimore

Toss in Thompson, Thomas, Perkins, and this loss doesn't concern me much.... This year, but boy are we THIN after the 4 above leave.

Was was moved to the offensive side of the ball, hopefully he makes the move back to DT.
