I'm not sure they can cough up the $ to get him out of the SEC. It seems like Miami's last run of head coaches have all been in the 20 - 40 highest paid HC's in America during their time at The U. I don't think that's enough to get Lane to jump no matter how much he loves South Florida.

I feel like Urban is already negotiating with USC. He is doing all he can to get fired at Jville. Kiffin would be dangerous at LSU but he would have to get a nice raise to go there. Same at Miami. Kiffin and Miami would be beautiful if they could scrounge up about 8 mill a year for him

Miami has mystique and is a flashy place. Restoring them to competing for championships would be attractive to a guy like Kiffin. Plus, South Beach matches his lifestyle. I think it's a perfect job for him.

Yeah, I'm not sure I buy that last piece. Maybe you're right, but I just don't see it that way. Their facilities suck, sure. But I can certainly see a scenario where they can return to elite levels. It's easy to recruit there. They're not far removed from a national championship as it is.

I've long suspected that this is an issue for him. We probably only know a small part of what really happened there and that's probably what's keeping him from getting another big job.

LK is bound to be looking to make a move after the season. Quarterback will be gone. Their roster looks loaded with transfers and SR on defense. Can’t imagine he would want to do a total defense rebuild in Oxford.

LSwho not a good fit. Perfect fits for him are USC, Texas and yes Miami. Perception schools. Then the lesser ones like Ole Miss, Virginia. He's just got the perfect personality for those.

He's not going to be able to maintain the talent level he needs to win year in and year out at ULL....they just can't compete recruiting wise. So I agree, I just don't understand why he thought he'd be better off sticking around there. But the physical brand of football they play on both sides of the ball, along with the level of talent he'd be getting yearly at LSU.....I just think he'd be really successful there.

I would imagine he could turn Miami around pretty quick. There is so much talent in South Florida he could cheerlead and put on a show and get players. But its definitely not the SEC and I'm sure he wants to win in the SEC. Biggest stage and all that ego stuff. Miami is an old has been. Its been a long time since they were actually good.

I still think the prostitute in Florida he got busted for by Rosebowl was for him personally. What did he do, bring her in for his home visit and send her back to the recruit's bedroom? No, that was for him afterwards. He never got busted for the ones from Memphis that were for the big recruiting weekend parties.

The man gave up $12 million dollars. Yeah.. there’s more to the story.

Not to mention Ross Bjork was involved, and he is fixing to be under the gun over Jimbo’s contract, so you better believe he’d WELCOME that distraction. Freeze ain’t getting the LSU job.

100% correct. Truth be told, if you look at Kiffin’s record at Ole Miss, it’s not overly impressive. But the insecurity by rival fanbases tells the real tale. They recognize the trajectory and what he inherited.

I know, because I felt the exact same way after Mullen’s 5-7 start at MSU. Yeah I could laugh and point at the Tyson Lee/LSU goal line stand game.. but I knew what I was seeing..
