The special teams did not look any better in the spring game. Especially considering there was no pressure on the punt / kickers. The first punt of the game was good, but with the wind. After that punting was below average. Missed extra point and a missed 40 yard field goal. Same song as last year.

Announcers said they had two different punters maybe wearing same number? Odd, but sounded like the good punts were Buschini, and the bad punts were the other guy.
Missing the FG bad and extra point were rough, even if we are still waiting on Bleekrode to hopefully save us.
I’d prefer the other guys be capable of making those kicks.
Bleekrode should fix the extra point and field goal issues but good kickers still sometimes miss one especially in windy situations. Buschini had at least one short punt where the ball got up in the jet stream and was actually coming backwards before it hit the ground. He's got some HUGE hang time but when you punt it that high in to the wind, bad things can happen.
I remember clear back in 1969 NU was playing OU in Norman. Very windy day.
NU had the ball about their own 10? yard line and was forced to punt.
The punt went up and then started to blow back, I think it went out for about a 1-2 yard kick.
If I'm not mistaken the OU QB, maybe Mildren, scored the first play after the punt.
NU went on to win that day by 30, and began their 33 game winning streak.
The good ole days. Gone for ever in more ways than one.
There were two punters. And the scholarship field goal kicker is not yet here. We also didn't see the return games. So, I'd say it is way too early to judge special teams based on the Spring game.
The highly prized transfer PK will be here for the summer workouts and that's why I'm unconcerned about PK in 2022. Even great punters will struggle on windy days, we got a good one in Bushini, not concerned one bit. What I want to see is punt/pk protection perform a high level that is what is really key.
And I think he likely was working out some nerves of kicking in front of a P5 crowd for the first time. That's really the value of the Spring Game to get that crowd experience behind you. BUT of course we'll see what happens in the Fall when it actually counts.
Wearing the same f'n jersey number? Is this another ploy by the secretive Scott Frost or just a lack of attention to detail?
The punter will be fine. He was the FCS punter of the year in 2021.
We're bringing in three new kickers. One scholarship guy and two well regarded walk-ons. I doubt you'll ever see any of those guys from the SG ever attempt a fg or pat again.
There was a tie with USC in that 33 game win streak, I believe to start the 1970 season. Listened to the game on the radio in my parents kitchen, I was 10.
Just looked at roster, and sure enough Grant Detlefsen is a punter wearing #95 with Buschini.
So I think Bushini had a pretty good day.
