but Q Newsome played quite a bit at CB as well. He wasn’t just a special teams guy which makes a big difference on burning redshirts

right...so he played CB as well. I won’t even try and pretend like I know how many snaps the young man played but he’d definitely did both. Only way to truly know is literally going back to ever game and counting how many times he got put in, how many snaps he played and keeping count each and every game. Yeah, no thanks.

Good point about the field goals... do you realize we had 5 different people kicking field goals this year?

Very short-sighted of the coaches to not have 5 kickers on scholarship. I hope we go in that direction moving forward so we never have a problem kicking field goals again.

Why are 4 kickers getting injured due to overuse injuries? That IS a major coaching issue.

It wasn’t just the players. The decision to kick long that resulted in a return for a touchdown was just poor coaching.

Someone should have been covering that lane and prevented the player from reaching the outside.

They didn’t all get injured. The first two got injured, then the rest who were invited to join mid season duked it out for who wasn’t the worst.

Another special teams coaching blunder in the Iowa game was having Brody Belt as the kick returner and letting him bring kickoffs out of the end zone.
