Special Teams? What's next?

Currently we have 3 kickers and 2 punters listed on the roster. All but one punter, Baker Swedenberg and one kicker, William Berg, are listed as seniors on the roster. I have never seen either perform.

I know that we have had a glaring weakness in kickoff coverages and much of the problem has been the depth of the kickoffs along with the depth of talent needed to field a good kickoff coverage team. I believe the depth of talented athletes are improving with every signing class that Mullen puts together but how about kickers/punters.

I am not terribly concerned because I believe Mullen has this covered but I am curious about the two we have already there and if there are other possibilities.

DePasquale is listed as a Senior on Roster. I don't believe he will be back next year.

I don't know which is true, but I kinda trust that Locke confirmed this with the AD.

That makes sense, a misprint on a roster sheet.

I disagreed with someone over this and my source was the roster sheet. I won the argument but apparently I was wrong. I did a quick google search and he is talked about many places as a senior.

I know in some interviews he has also pointed this out as a mistake

but I wouldn't be surprised if we invite JA's kicker to walk-on in a couple of years. He is a MSU legacy- Mike Mordecai, and he is related to Art, the former WR under Emory. Mordecai also plays WR for JA.

He's a JUCO so someone assumed he was an incoming junior for his first year at State, but he in fact was a sophmore that year. making this his junior year.

I'm friends with Berg and see him almost daily. Hes still got another year, he said he plans on being 1 or 2 next year. He only got to dress out like once last year and just a handful this year....
