its gameday tomorrow and I haven't seen a thread yet. Do the Raiders rebound? Is Ashbrook showing us a commitment to the run and putting a saddle on #2?

I'll be checking this one out tomorrow...always a good game between these two.

This one is easy. SP will load the box and shut down Ashbrook's rushing attack. Raiders will generate enough offense to win. SP 24 Ashbrook 7.

If SP plays a mistake free game, I could possibly see a big win, but I am still having trouble gaining confidence in the offense. I say a low scoring game SP 14 Ash 3.

Ashbrook is awful this year. They've not been good for a long time. It's a combo of bad coaching (staff) and WAY overrated players. People think because kids look a certain way makes them good players. Truth is Ashbrook has not had a lot of talent the last decade. They've had a D1 every now and again (J. Boyd was a legit super talent, Devin Harris was a really good football and baseball talent as well.) But who else? Who do they have this year? Brooks is a good HS player.......but what else they got?

SP 35 - Ashbrook 14

The Hyiatt (sp?) kid's definitely not bad, and even the QB surprised me. While the D1 talen could possibly be gone, there's still something to be said about being a good HS football player. Does a player have to be D1 to be considered a good football player? If that's the case we can only talk about a hand full of SP guys.

I'd say Ashbrook matches up pretty well with SP position for position with the exception of Muse and Davis.

I can't pick a winner here, but I think it's gonna be a close one.

I thought Ashbrook has several good football players when we played them and they played hard

Absolutely not. D1 players are often not better than the best HS players on their own teams. They fit a certain size/height/weight requirement with speed in most cases. I just hear a lot of "Ashbrook has a bunch of D1 and college talent"...and I don't agree with that. Ashbrook will match up just fine with everyone except Davis on SPs team this year...I agree there partially. But, this SP team is one of the lesser teams in the last 20 years too. So......when the score comes out I think it will prove what I'm saying about Ashbrook being so very down.

I get where you're coming from I think....and I can agree there. I will say I think Ashbrook is trying to still find its identity. One week they are pass happy, the next they are running #2 50 times.

In past years, if we were to match Ashbrook and SP up....Ashbrook should win at each position?

I don't agree with that. Esp. in the last 5-6 years, SP has been more talented at most positions. I know what everyone sees.....the two different sides and what the teams look like.
What I'm saying specically though is, if you look at how they play and the speed at which they play...SP was more talented in 2009-2015. There was more talent that never got to show much sitting on the bench at SP during those years. Z Givens was underutilized I think. I think Glenn didn't want anymore a couple years in a row vs SP. He always found a way out of the game. The one kid who went to G-W was a really solid player. But, if those guys mentioned were the studs that lead the team....I 'm standing by my SP had more talented football players than Ashbrook the last 5-6 years.

SP takes care of the Brook 45 - 12 tonight. SP never in jeopardy in this game but we left the game shaking our heads how the offense put 45 points on the board. It felt like more of a 25 - 12 game. The offense continues to play like they are stuck in the mud. The defense is good. I still think they will wind up conference champs or at least co champs in this sorry conference if #33 stays healthy. It looks like the conference game of the year has already been played - HH over SP. If SP can get to the second round of the playoffs this year, they will exceed all my expectations of this offense.

I'd stick to your regular season schedule before I'm talking playoffs. Y'all still are a 3-4 team and have one conference loss. I know it's hard for y'all to comprehend in Belmont, but your team has weekly games, four of them still remaining. Don't get ahead of yourselves.

Bad thing about it. We should be 6 and 1. Even though our offense isn't that good right now. If something does happen and that person gets better and we make a run lookout. After all the stuff i said. We should win out after FV. I'm not worried about Charter or NG. Cramer hasn't scored on us in there schools history.

-------------------------- Smallest Ashbrook team I have ever seen. Don't sleep on the team from Cramerton they are much improved.

Tinker had a nice night at FB with 20 carries for 144 yards. Alexander played CB and some WB with the loss of Mario. SP playing without 3 starting O linemen. Nice win for a Mash unit.

If your offense "ISN'T GOOD RIGHT NOW" it's not going to get better...we're week 7, you are who you are at this point. Just accept it. The FV game could go a long way of determining the Conference Champ IF Huss drops one, they are in the driver seat right now and are in control of their own destiny. That Storm could be coming Coonie, you make the schools history sound like Cramer has been opened for 20 years...it's been two and the first year South Point blanked them they were made up of Juniors/Sophomores/and Freshmen.

Happy Friday Gentlemen!

Couple of things. No- we shouldn't be 6-1. We aren't a good enough team to be 6-1. We had plenty of help to even be in two of those losses. That said....Obviously HH-SP was the game of the conference. I said as much about a week ago. HH is in the drivers seat. People, please start taking notes.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY in Belmont is worried about Forestview or SC. FV will be a closer game..maybe 31-17 win for SP. The SP - Stuart Cramer will go a little something like this:
SC will continue to carry the false confidence, the misplaced optimism and the way too high expectations into the SP game due to beating stalwart programs like Cherryville, Bessemer ******, West Iredell and Lake Norman Community Technical Hospital.
West Iredell is a solid 2-5 this year, a much improved season over last year's 0-11. I see why there is teeming confidence abound in Mount Holly. Cherryville hasn't had a winning football season in Pop Warner, Middle School or High School since Ike was in office and LNCTH is still a Middle School team by all accounts. Nobody has fixed the glitch yet, and they're still on the schedule.
So, when SP-SC meets, SP will deal with the personal fouls and dirty play SC has become known for, and still physically beat them up in a contest that resembles early Tyson vs. Glass Joe fights. Final score SP 66, SC 13

Oh and yes - SP was missing players. Made one great switch for one of the problem positions. They result seen was expected for 99% of the fans.
I don't know about Ashbrook's size being small for this year's team, but I know they're the worst Ashbrook team I've ever seen.

For HH and Ashbrook ...they ain't what they used to be. They used to be big schools, and you ended up being able to pick a lot of athletes on the team. The demographics at Ashbrook then and now haven't changed too much....only the enrollment numbers have. If anything Ashbrook looks a little bit more like HH used to look demographics wise. When you had a very large pool of players to choose from in the old days...you found a lot of athletes. When you have half the enrollment you used to have (like now)- you have less athletes. So, you look on the sidelines, and it looks like a similar team as what they used to have, but it isn't. Same with HH. This is the first year in the last decade where HH has had more than 3-4 legit really good athletes on the football field. So, they'll likely win the conference now that they've beaten SP.

HH will win this year. Best they've been in a long time. I don't think the 9th grade QB gets enough credit. He's a key to keeping some of those drives alive. Now...if they'd just not overdo letting him throw, they'd be in better shape. Looks like they blew that game against PR or whoever it was with 5 picks? Crazy. He reminds me a little of Anthony Jackson of early 90s and what he could be. I don't think HH is great. I think they have a chance to be REALLY good this time next year. I was impressed with their on the field coaching and demeanor against SP.
I hope FV does well this year. I always hope Medlin does well. I don't think yall will beat us this year, but it'll be closer than normal. SP isn't real hard to figure out on offense. Just made a move to a FB who can get to the hole quick enough which will be good for the offense.

Haven't got a chance to see HH play this year yet, depending on weather might try to check that one out tonight. Has the freshman started all year? The other kid was a sophomore correct? What'd they do with him?

inserting Cramer into a Red Raider conversation is offensive. South Point is the singular juggernaut program in Belmont, surrounded by a lowing herd of loser wannabes.

Cramer’s excessive failures as a team is now matched by its over the top grave dancing for beating up a couple winless groups of cupcake cripples. A 2016 curbstomping will silence these cross town clowns at until at least next August.

Just curious, if somehow by the grace of God Cramer beats the almighty Red Raiders how many of you are going to think about ending it all? Bc I have been around along time and while I just rejoined this sight after being off of it for years, I have seen good defences. Say what you want about the talent of their competition but they have as good of defence as I have seen in years. This isn't college you can't pick your non conference schedule from year to year. If they can find momentum on offence they could get dangerous.

That's funny.

What's it going to take for them to get some respect? They beat Ashbrook and everyone said "worsted team Ashbrook has ever had". Then yall beat them and it's a "big win". So do they have to beat Huss or will you still say their competition is giving them false confidence?
