We patched things together, but let’s be honest, it’s time to go home to Nike. WAYYY more apparel options and GENERALLY better gear (some total crap mixed in). Nike ain’t perfect, but we are more desirable now than we were when we signed with those clowns. Not been impressed after, what....7-8 years??? When does this contract end?

I actually really like the adidas gear we have gotten in the last few years. They finally stopped screwing around playing around with different looks snd finally settled on a more classic look. Ever since then it's been good. I like all my adidas gear I buy.

Our contract was up for renewal in June of this year unless there was some provision in it I'm not aware of. Considering we are still an Adidas school, I'm assuming we did renew with them for a few more years. I'm pretty sure the athletic department has always been pretty fond of our deal with Adidas.

2020 isn't exactly the year to be changing such things. Probably low on the priority list, all things considered.

It wouldn’t take a move of heaven and earth to let Nike know we like our look now (sans helmets we can’t get right). We do get final say after all.

Half this board has convinced themselves that adidas is a better look. I disagree, but they have improved considerably over the last decade. I’ll concede that. Not the premier outfitter tho. Maybe they have some thoughts on our helmet and an update to the uniform we now wear that adidas ripped off.

I'm not a fan of Adidas. Plus, I think they treat A&M better than us and their new classic look is pretty slick. Honestly... I wish we'd change. Arkansas made the move to Nike and it has improved their look.

Also... Adidas is very juco looking to me. Just not pleasing to the eye at all.

I like adidas much better for apparel, but as a coach, IMO Nike’s gear is a no brainer. But, 17 Nike.

I like Nike gear as much as the next guy, but are we just going to ignore the fact that our contract with Adidas is infinitely better than anything we’d pull with Nike? Off the top of my head, I can only think of a handful of Adidas schools who are ahead of/level with us in priority: A&M, Miami, Louisville, Nebraska (and I’d think we’re ahead of even some of them). Then think of literally every blue blood and put them in front of us for attention and money. That’s what Nike would be.

Didn’t we make fun of Ole Miss’s contract with Nike when we signed a massive deal with Adidas?

But what am I thinking? Logic has no place on the internet.***

Just for fun, these are the Nike schools in the Power 5 that I consider to be ahead of or level with us (whether by prestige or current performance):
Alabama
Florida
Tennessee
LSU
Georgia
Ohio State
Michigan
Michigan State
Penn State
Clemson
FSU
Oklahoma
Texas
Oregon
USC
Stanford

I get that there might be some kind of prestige to being a Nike school, and I definitely think we leverage it into our next deal with Adidas. But goodness gracious, folks, Nike would not give us a second thought.

Which side is the fool for not coming up with an agreement? The multinational conglomerate or the one coming off Sylvester Croom?

Yeah, Adidas has been awesome to State.

Coaches may have different opinions on the gear, but I love what I can buy. Shoes, shirts, hats...all fewer issues than I had with Nike back in the day, and obviously better than what Russell did for us.
We should keep living the 3-stripe life.

I do not get the Nike love. Their shoes are trash. Clothes are trash. The old logo? Dated.

Distribution is only "plus" I can give them over any other legitimate brand.

17 it. I want to be a Tommy Bahama school. Did you see that magnificent Hawaiian shirt Coach was wearing during Dawg Talk? Sam Snead.

Nike can suck it. They need to use their money on rebuilding Portland now that it is torn apart.

I'm not a huge Adidas fan and think their designs are garbage, but I will take them every day and then plus one over Nike. I loved watching the Jordan documentary where he did not want to meet with Nike because he felt they were inferior to Converse. His mom coaxed him into the meeting and after quite a few games with bloody feet, he added greatly to his fortune. In truth, Michael could have played bare foot and still launch himself from the free throw line.

Sums it up pretty well. I used to not like them, but they've given our school a better deal than others. And they have really stepped up their football production and quality. I will say, that they do get hella lazy when it comes to us v TXAM.

I grew up on Nike though. The were the All American brand of the 80s and 90s. They'll always have the classic look and I like buying American.

Arkansas has had Nike since like 2008 I think. In fact the current Darren McFadden-era uniforms were actually originally from Adidas in 2005-07 but Nike basically copied them. Seems like with every coaching change we've changed uniforms which means we've changed about every 3 years but the current ones are my favorite by far.

I agree. And I’ll admit Adidas has improved in some areas of their uniform design but overall their apparel is garbage. They stick two or three logos or words on one tshirt alone.

Random *** stripes on polos and T-shirts.

The majority of Adidas apparel you see on the racks in stores is subpar in comparison to Nike.

You can’t look at Arky’s new road uni’s they released and tell me Nike doesn’t put out a superior product. From aesthetics to the apparel material itself , Nike is top shelf.

Unfortunately, I’m sure Cohen is content with Adidas and we will be stuck with them for the foreseeable future.

I buy a ton of adidas, Nike, and under armor apparel and it’s all pretty much the same. I would give Nike the advantage on shoes and T-shirts, Adidas the advantage on shorts and Hoodies. UA has good stuff but they rate below the others for me.

Screw Nike.... and all of their products

Total ditto for me. I never owned much Nike stuff but when they went all-in on Kaepernick, I trashed everything I had that had the swoosh on it. As far as I'm concerned, anybody BUT Nike is fine with me.

Anyone who thinks that Adidas doesn't put out gear equal to if not better than Nike is just stuck in 1995.
