I hope they made some good changes. I did hear that #34 Ometrick Leeper quit the team and the coaches released Bruton off of JV squad for not being a team player. I still expect a Raider win!!

I guess the South Point guys think the season is over.

As Big Jacob McCandles would say, "Not hardly, egfan!" The mighty Red Raiders come roaring back at the expense of the hapless Warriors. Black Friday will be just that!

On a side note, I liked Burns a lot better when they were lovable losers!

No major changes will occur. H#ll they don't need to do any changes now that conference play is here. They will win every game (not including HH) by 35 in an effort to prove they were right with the personnel decisions that were obviously wrong.
SP will win the HH game with defense and hopefully HH will continue to throw 3-4 INTs a game and forget about those backs they have.

Raiders will be ready tonight and expect a big win on Black Friday. JV's won last night 35-8. Jones kid looked good at FB, Leeper showing some speed. Raiders will be OK.

I do not believe that I have ever seen a SP defense overrun an offense as they did tonight. EG had as many or more negative plays than positive plays on the night. Would not be surprised if they were negative total yards until the 80 yd TD in the waning minutes. QB barely avoided a sack on that one. SP offense was clearly better but as strange as it sounds after scoring 58 points, the offense is still not clicking the way SP offense can click. Lots of misreads tonight.

Our offensive and defensive lines looked like they were in quick sand. Can't sugar coat it, we were awful. Have a little pride when you are defending your home field!

Is it the lack of players or what? You going to still have a team by the last week of the season?
I have no idea. We have pretty good size on both lines, but they don't block or tackle well. We are also lacking at the skill positions and our numbers are low (I think we dressed 30 player tonight).

EG had good size on both lines and their D line actually made some good plays. SP Dline and LB's much too quick for EG O line. EG QB is also not very mobile and that hurt. The new rule with the running clock makes sense. That game was going to stay ugly as long as it played.

I agree about the running clock rule. You are going to have to ride your defense this year, your offense is average at best (my opinion).

After Clovers win over York (saw York last week and they have players everywhere) tonight, Shelby's #1 ranking in 2A and WBTV poll, and Lincolnton's #2 ranking in 2A maybe rumors of SP's demise are premature. The teams that have defeated South Point are now a collective 15-0. Two of our losses have come on the road, and two of the losses were by a combined 4 points. South Point held each of these teams to their season low in points, greatly below. I laughed out loud when I saw Jack Flagler predict that EG would score 24 points on SP (the same as Shelby scored after multiple SP turnovers). Agree with the thread above, SP offense is still not hitting at full efficiency, but I think we will figure it out during conference play. SP is perilously thin at many positions, but if we can avoid the injury bug, and get more efficient on offense, our defense can take us far. Go Big Red!
