Iowa Western is one of the best jucos in the country and they are in our back yard. They were ignored by previous staffs and I don't know why. I really hope we get a foot in the door over there and pull some of their better players. I'm not sure if the staff thought Bell waa a better fit for their offense or not.
Remember what Banker said. The "smart guys" above the coaches didn't want JUCO players for whatever reason.
If you need to get "mad" to play well at the D1 level...then you are not a D1 guy.

I'm talking Pelini's staff too. They ignored IWCC also. When Riley was hired, I remember their staff tweeting at NU their address. I guess it fell on deaf ears.

Yep. Who knows, maybe Bell hangs 170 on Iowa today if he hadn't quit at the first sign of adversity.
By the looks of it...neither should have been recruited. The top two backs were the top two backs by years end. It’s unfortunate the staff felt the need to cater to Bell.

The backs we used today didn’t cost us the game. And I saw nothing in Sargent’s game that made me think he was a next level back. I think his O-line made him look good
Sargent looked even slower than Greg Bell to me. I think I could have ran for over 100 yards behind the Iowa line today.
Everybody seems to have a grudge against Nebraska:
