Unless you guys hire some bagmen, the big time recruits ain't coming. I'm a Cal Bears fan and talked to someone on the staff about recruiting, said all the big time schools are dirty( Including OSU and UM)

He said he never heard much on Nebraska being shady.

Worst offenders Bama, FSU, Ole Miss and UGA just got into the game...Not much on LSU...Even USC still throwing out envelopes.

I agree with this. There are a ton of other things standing in Nebraska's way also, but this is definitely another one. The SEC teams are getting away with A Lot. It's known even by the media and their stance is "every school is doing it".

Of course they're dirty. College football has turned into a reality TV show and that's how those coaches see it. I'd wait til NSD, though, to see how it really plays out.

Thanks, we're closing down the program after today.

Maybe 4* Lamar Jackson, 4* Marquel Dismuke, 4* Tristan Gebbia, & 4* Keyshawn Johnson Jr can transfer to Cal.

I didn't mean it in that way, I'm talking about some of the kids you're in on, you never had a chance from the start. Saying if the playing field was level you would have way more studs.

Highly rated kids will still pick NU because it's a great school to play football

This is what I've been saying. Sure we'll get the occasional 1 or 2 elite recruits a year but until we start acting like a major program we'll never be a major program.

The thing is the NCAA can't stop it if most of the top programs are doing it...What are they going to do, put every Big time school on sanctions?

You don't need inside info to know schools cheat, just watch the draft.

I always knew some schools cheated but i didn't think it was so rampant until i talked with a coach..Basically saying schools don't even care about hiding it from the NCAA. They just self report some secondary violations and call it a day.

Was just passing on some info i heard from a coach, not hating on NU.

Peace every 1

You'll be met with hostility as many are going to be irritable today.

Back on topic though, Nebraska fans won't like it, but at this point, if we actually want to compete for championships and be good again, we have to compete in ever facet of recruiting, that includes under the table transactions.

Alabama players get cars and have had multiple assistant coaches caught paying kids and have had multiple players admit to getting paid.
A former Auburn coach has laid out in detail how they paid players.
Tennessee offers money, gold watches and escorts.
Clemson hands over mounds of cash during recruiting visits.
Ole Miss pays out the butt to players and player families.

All of these things are facts, not speculation or hearsay. The NCAA looks the other way and fans do not care if it means winning. If Nebraska wants to win recruiting battles for top tier talent from an impoverished area, money is what's going to win at the end of the day, not academic support or a sell out streak. It's either cash handed to them or a garauntee of money when a coach has long proven track record of winning and putting a lot of kids in the NFL.

Cheating doesn't even need to involve athletic department staff. It just takes willing alumni to hand out "charitable donations" (Cam Newton) to the athlete's dad's church or adopt a poor high school kid who happens to be an All-American in football (Michael Oher), and by all accounts the coaches have no knowledge of it.

Until the NCAA penalties actually have some teeth, you'd be stupid NOT to cheat. That goes x1,000 for basketball.

When there is objective verifiable fact that could be proven in a court of law that Cam's dad was asking for $250k, suddenly buys new Cadillac Escalade ect., and the NCAA looks away and does nothing, you know rampant corruption exist.

I work with a guy that started for Bama. Said they didn't offer him Anything, but Auburn offered a new car.

I was good friends with Lester Earl, when he played basketball at KU. He drove a brand new tricked out Escalade. I actually looked at the registration. It was in his mother's name. Insurance card was in her name with an Agent from Lawrence listed. His mom was a hotel maid in Louisiana.

I went out with him 3 times. He always had a wad of cash. He also knocked up the daughter of the most prominent Oral Surgeon in Kansas. Their kid is 14 now, and she killed herself a few years ago. Lester is taking care of the child.

Word is out that there could have been a hundred thousand reasons we lost out on a recruit today.
