Ron was Charmin soft tonight but fortunately showed up when we needed him most. Nice finish for Geo.

Absolutely shocked we pulled that off. Lot of second chance boards. Ron outside of being a no show hit clutch FTs. Caleb an absolute stud on defense down the stretch. Myles playing like an nba player(if you go blind during his fts), geo clutch as always. Love it. Grinder.

We out rebounded them, fg % and 3 pt% was better than there’s, and more steals. But somehow reading the game thread we were out played and lazy. I just don’t get it. I love this team and just don’t understand the constant negativity.

I feel like I watched a different game than all of you. I would agree that our non starters played like crap, but the team overall played well in my opinion. Shot 53%, slight edge in rebounds, made free throws down the stretch, and played absolutely stellar d in the last two minutes. Again, not sure how that is “playing like crap”

I think Mathis should spell Mulcahy or McConnell

I just don’t think Mathis and young should be on the floor at the same time for long spurts. I also think Mathis would thrive in an offense/def with the main starters minus one of the two above.

as for young he should spell Mulcahy or Geo and leave one of them in the floor to balance things out

He almost cost us the game singlehandedly. When he is out of control emotionally he needs to sit for the rest of the game.
JY needs to be played in small doses... preferably when Geo or Paul aren on the court. To many possessions he dominates the ball for most of the possession and we scramble ... even if he hits the shot the possession is out of wack. I will give him credit fir his in your face defense, which has to wear on the other team

Having Jacob Young and Mathis on the court together is a bad idea. They need to be paired with Caleb or Mulcahy.

Agree. I like them coming off the bench, but they don't have to always come together lol. Plus, each are good defender's, so can use them with other lineups as well.

JYs worst game of the season
I'm not sure why he got T'd up, choice of word prob, but that was an awful way to close the half.

RU will need him a lot down these stretch of games of course.

JY's playing time should be determined by how he looks his first couple minutes. If it's the good JY, he plays a lot. If it's the bad JY spend most of the game on the bench

you need him in small doses and when he has his head up his butt, you need to pull him immediately. You can’t wait until he makes his 6th turnover. For his 18 minutes, he tuned the ball over once every 3 minutes. That’s insane and hard to do without trying.

a sign of a good seasoned team is winning when you have multiple players not playing well but do all the things like free throws and making plays when you need to. All the starters did that late. You see an immature team like Minnesota had a meltdown and were flustered late. Tale of two very different makeups

strongly agree with this. when JY is off you can tell right away, not the kind of player you can leave in and things will be different. No player is perfect, JY usualy makes a mistake or two and recovers from it with better play. Tonight he made crucial mistakes at the end of the half and that play carried over to when he came in the 2nd half, at that point, it was clear his night was over.

For Iowa, JY will be needed, his skill set is exactly the matchup advantage we have. JY has to be locked in and answer the call

OK JY we all admit had a bad game, but he also hit some clutch shots throughout, so let’s not forget that. That being said - and I didn’t watch any post game stuff so I have no idea - did our head coach stick up for him in anyway shape or form, or did he WITHOUT QUESTION deserve the T?? Not for nothing but, for all the great he does and I want him to be here as our head coach for a long time, we know how he is when it comes to officiating and questioning it both during or after the game.

Thank you.

Said something after he got called for a foul. Like I said above, so frustrating - we had the ball with a 2 pt lead with the shot clock off at the end of the first half - Young proceeds to turn it over, then he fouls and then he gets called for a T.

That sequence before the half bothered the hell out of me as well. And I hate turnovers, but the T and dumb foul were worse than the 6 give aways.

I think the T was because Young dropped a "WTF" after getting called for the foul. That's what I think I saw on a replay, but I could be wrong. It almost ended up costing us the W. Hopefully he learned a lesson and watches himself more.

Thought we played very well overall & that Minny was tough. Good type of back & forth win. Good for the team's confidence.
