I'm hearing we are and then I'm hearing stuff like Judge hasn't actually signed with the Giants yet. And I'm just getting really confused and I'm scared and I want my Mommy! Someone give me answers!!

Napier is in play but JC must wait until Baylor makes a decision on who it wants. This will require maximum patience.

Nobody knows a damn thing. I feel like I’ve being robbed by the 24/7 site. Their lack of info has been incredible.

The trumpet reporting only factual stories, so they get beat by everyone to the punch. It’s very frustrating.

The dark horse candidate thread is laughable.

I have no idea about Napier but I can almost guarantee judge has actually signed his deal. He’s getting paid $7 million per year for a marquee franchise. He probably signed that before it got passed across the table to him.

Being told things are looking up with Napier

But of course that could change.

Agreed. Steve was blindsided by the Judge news this morning (I guess we all were) and now his sources have gone silent and he’s just throwing **** at the wall to see if it sticks.

If Napier is hired soon, Steve will be in the dark, he hasn’t acted like Napier is a realistic candidate in days

Yeah I don't blame Steve for getting the Judge stuff wrong. There was enough people saying it that it was clearly correct until The Rhule news this morning.

The silence and lack of information today has been shocking.

Steve is right - Napier has not been realistic in days because he was putting us off as of Saturday night onward trying to delay and look at options. Not trying to go against your thoughts on it, but that is accurate and started Saturday night.
Only now that Baylor is not an option we are now the second fiddle

Why is Baylor considered a superior job to MSU?

It's a private school, but not near the academic rating of upper level privates, and we don't really know what they pay a football HC. It's in a decidely inferior conference, no higher than 3 of the Power 5, and probably 4. Waco is probably a more desirable town (larger but not huge, but less than 100 miles to Dallas if you need large). Other than location, I don't really see why it's better. As far as being a football HC, the SEC seems a lot more prestigious than the Big 12.

They are clueless right now. Probably had about half a dozen Judge articles written and waiting to publish, then the Giants came calling.

Now he’s trying to act like Mike Leach is a 17ing candidate. Yeah, like we fired Joe because he was a bad fit, only to hire Mike Leach. Just totally guessing and trying to keep people at bay at this point.

Baylor's a non-profit, so they have to file a 990. Unfortunately, GuideStar's most recent available 990 is 2017, a year in which they bought out Briles (so his annual compensation is listed at 17 million+). In 2016, Briles' total compensation was just over 6 million. I'm going to see if I can dig up their 2018 filing (2019 won't be filed yet).

ETA: 247sports reporting 2019 Rhule's salary was $4.1 million.

You’re about the only person on any message board with legitimate sources. This is refreshing.
