Everybody, I am SURE that this has been discussed, but I've been out of the country these past couple of weeks, and have missed pretty much everything.

What's the harm in playing Diallo right now? He sounds like just what the doctor ordered for this team!

Thoughts?

I'd recommend you look back into older threads. This has not just been discussed, this has been hashed, bashed, trashed, slammed, bammed and driven into the ground. The CLOD takes over the thread and it's descends into pages of name calling.

Answer: Cal is not going to play Diallo unless it is good for Diallo. Period.

You're right. Cal should force the kid to play against his wishes. That way he'll be sure to never land another 5 star kid with NBA dreams the rest of his time here. Genius!

Actually I never said Cal should force him to play. I just have a hard time recalling a 5 star recruit whose wishes were to not compete on gameday. I would prefer to let Cal evaluate his performance in practice and decide if the player can contribute or not. Its perfectly fine to have a difference of opinion in this situation. Thanks for the genius reference though. We think alike there.

i'll give you a short true answer. cal thinks he can win without him and doesn't want to have him show out and leave after 1/2 year which he could do. you ever met 19 year old top 10 prospect #1 at his position who wants to sit out games? yea that's believable, I'll just give up basically having to do nothing at a prep school, garner all kinds of accolades, skip the jordan game, usa vs world nike game, and every other post season honor except McD's, to go to college do real school work(at least comparatively) practice his *** off, and then not play games. likely

That sure wasn't a short answer.

I think everyone remembers Jarnell, he's the reason Cal started keeping a roster spot open during the season. He wanted Stokes and couldn't get him because we had no schollies. Stokes was good for UT, once he learned how to tie his shoes and stretch that is.

cut the OP some slack -
He said he was out of the country, and sometimes trying to do a search is a PITA

anyway - I'm sure we would all like to see Diallo play; just as I'm sure there are reasons he's not playing - and yes, I believe he can make the decision, as Cal said.
Diallo has an advantage these other freshmen did not: He can watch and see what college basketball is (in practice and from the sidelines) and determine for himself if he's ready. The other guys didn't have that opportunity - they jumped right in and went.

Congratulations. That second sentence is a world class text book example of a run on sentence. Not one person on the planet could understand what you are trying to say. It's got nothing to do with grammar police. It's just pointless to type it if no two people would ever get the same meaning.

Punctuation is your friend.

That's why I linked the previous thread.

So UK's defensive struggles call for a kid that has played zero games in the NCAA and has never played in this system....hmmmm.........He is supposed to be a good player, but unless you are a shot blocker specialists he would struggle. If he was a Noel type player or someone like that, then I would be questioning why not try him.

First of all, there's an article online RIGHT NOW, with Diallo saying that CAL said whenever I want to play I can, but right now I want to sit out. So its his decision.

Well, pull his scholarship then!

Seriously though, I think Cal looks at it this way...Cal is playing with house money here, rolling the dice in hopes Diallo is projected low enough that he wants to come back and we get him for a year. If he doesn't, nothing major was really lost. Yeah it won't look that great, but people will get over it as long as this doesn't become the norm.
