In all aspects of life you need some luck. Cals seems to have run out. He was on an absolute tear as we all know at UK, but now the ball doesn't seem to bounce right for him. Wide open shooters can't make shots, end of game situations just don't work out, etc. You would think some of these games would go UK's way but they don't anymore. We won a few big regular season games vs Kansas and North Carolina last year, but the biggest stages we seem to fold. It's time for a new era. The ONLY thing that can save Cal(in the fans mind) is a miracle NCAA tournament run.

Plenty of season left to see how it shakes out. That was about as bad as I've seen an effort be in the first half. Played pretty good in the 2nd but you can't give em that kinda cushion and expect to win.

Championships are won in April and if we win no one will remember these games. Both games have been rough no doubt but we're not going to fire Cal this season with that class coming next year. Might as well see how it shakes out or turn it off and shut up until after next season when you might be able to have a hope to get rid of him.

Lol. Why would it be a “miracle NCAA run”. It’s literally November.

Is it possible we go on a streak and win 15 straight and things seem ok? Yeah. But why would anyone expect that after the past few years and what we have seen so far this year?

You’re a fool. Both of you in this thread are.

This isn’t about “luck”. And you’re a self admitted Syracuse fan and Boeheim supporter. Please leave Kentucky out of your bs.

Luck? you think Rupp depended on luck? This ain't about luck. This is about hard work, leadership and being prepared and well coached

It just isn't there anymore. No fire. No motivation. Cal used to live for games like this. Not anymore.

Fires out. If he had any respect for the tradition of this, he would step aside. He doesn't. Those nice big checks are way more important to him.

Obviously that is part of it.. I don't think that needs to be explained. But there is this almost unbelievable sense I get when I watch games now days. I mean 1 free throw going in there, great 3 pt shooters missing like 7 straight wide open 3s, players falling asleep on inbounds plays. Just nothing seems to bounce our way, that's what I mean. That shot, that call, that play, whatever it is just seems to not go Cals way anymore.

I mean honestly, and I mean in all honesty, if you've resigned to that fact. Probably just better to not watch, if it comes to fruition and we flame out again after a bunch of embarrassing losses then you've saves yourself the time. If we do win 15 straight and look like world beaters then well you missed the process and only have yourself to blame. I still have some hope for this roster.

Yeah can't people see they wr a horrible 3 point shooting team last year and now they are pulling the same crap. Wheeler has to be wide *** open to even attempt a 3 because he brings ball up from hip in the most atrocious shooting form I have ever seen for a guard. Easily blockable. Their not winning anything in March when the point guard can't shoot in opponents face.

He hasn’t run out of luck. He has run out of ***** to give. He has turned UK into his own personal missionary all about changing lives not winning games.
I don't believe that. I think his fire isn't what it once was but I do think he cares, sad what we are watching.

If we don’t get it done this year, don’t get it done next year, when do you say enough is enough. Cal always has a good recruiting class coming in which he always underachieves with. Regardless what players we have on the floor we are just a poor basketball team under his leadership.

Why would I not watch my favorite team play just because Cal can't get them to win or even look like a shell of the teams he previously had? How am I the bad guy for wanting Cal to do ANYTHING with this top 3 Division 1 roster he has. Make that make sense.

Is that the position you had with the BJ Boston team, or last year after we lost to St. Peter's?

Cal criticism tonight is warranted. One thing as far as luck goes, I would also mention getting 5 star recruits that just aren’t very good or not getting them at all.

This team has 3 5 star players on the roster(Cason, Chris, Daimion) and 2 are virtually unplayable. You can definitely blame him for recruiting misses that those seem to have been but now that the season has started it creates a huge void with this team.

Just saying, if all it causes you is strife and you don't think it'll get any better probably better to sit it out until you get that new shiny coach you want.

I did not comment on when enough is enough, or even my opinion on the coaching situation, just stating my opinion that no AD is gonna fire a coach with the class he has coming in. Just not happening.

So when we aren't playing well we all should just stop caring and posting on message boards? Sounds like how you become Indiana, accept being average.

Why watch then? I watched 2014, so yeah, I'm always gonna cheer the team on and hope for the best. I don't make coaching hiring/firing decisions or on court decisions. While those decisions may frustrate me focusing on what I cannot control is a fool's errand and waste of energy.

So I do what I can control and that is to hope for the best and cheer my team on. If it came down to it and things got so bad that I lost all joy and hope I'd just stop watching, attending games, buying merch etc until things changed. It's the only power an average fan has.

You can say he's a terrible X&O's coach and be right, but I'm not going to engage in the ignorant "he doesn't care about winning". If you can't see that's for recruiting you aren't smart enough for me to talk to.

So, you're basically saying that was the position you've had before, and now you have it again for a third straight year? Wait it out and see if it gets better?

This is me most of the time. But I got really mad tonight. Effort is easy. If you can’t do the easy stuff then the hard stuff should really worry you.

I try to never live in the peaks and valleys. I stay pretty level and the wait and see approach always wins out. I’m gonna stick with that but tonight was hard.

I’ve seen some of our teams do amazing things when I thought we were so bad. I watched that 2014 team that couldn’t win a road game all year run to the title game. I’ve also seen some 9-16 shenanigans. Being a staunch supporter of a sports team is not for the faint of heart

Lol. I already see you divert to personal attacks. Yep the overwhelming default of the highly intelligent lol.

Same **** has been spewed by Cal for the past several years and the results are still the same. His record dictates otherwise. His ******** comments about not wanting to take a players heart. Of course Cal would prefer to win than lose, but his priorities are effed up and it shows.

I don't think I've turned a UK game off ever. Not even during BCG years or the 9 win season. I was real close after that first half. I always come back to the mindset of, sports miracles happen and wouldn't you feel like an absolute *** if you turned off a historic comeback? Usually they don't happen, so then when its the last few minutes I think, well, you've watched this much, might as well finish it out.

There's no way in hell you should have a player of Oscar's caliber and be losing like we are. Coach Cal should be embarrassed. He is not on the coaching level of any of his peers. He wins with pure talent and luck.

This team's already set up to lose 10 games now.
They ain't going no better than 11-7 SEC play. No way.
at least a nine loss team

I remember one poster here defending Tubby saying that he was one lucky bounce away from a final four.

My response was that we better find a luckier coach then
