UL should have never went to ACC. THEY will struggle to compete for conference title with the exception of baseball in the coming years....football amd basketball will be bottom feeders from this point forward imo
Yeah, I bet they really regret not staying the AAC, Big East, Conference USA, Metro, whatever other mid major conference they've been in instead of a power 5. Good take.

Maybe, but at this point I’d bet the conference regrets it more than UofL does.

Yep. A friend of mine is a Clempson grad and used to work in the athletic department there. I told him that the ACC would regret letting University Six in, and after Hookergate, he reminded me about what I told him and said I had the dirty bastards pegged, and now he'd love to see them booted.

I hate UL, but the money from a Big 5 conference plus the ACC schools on their schedule makes OP's post pretty silly.

They have been irrelevant since 1986..you realize 2012-2016 dont count...they are irrelevant
They have been irrelevant besides the time they were relevant which dont count. Did I get that right?

Yeah, playing Duke and UNC in basketball and Clemson and FSU in football doesnt do as much for relevancy as playing Houton, UAB, Cincinnati, and Memphis.

At this point, UMM's ability to routinely make idiotic, detached from reality threads about every single thought that pops into his mind is almost impressive

How many ACC championships do they have? Will they have? NEVER.

They beat Florida in the Sugar Bowl not too long ago. We haven’t beaten Florida in 30 years.

Louisville has a good athletics program. Why this is hard for some to admit is so stupid. They have been to the CWS multiple times, had success in basketball with now vacated final fours and a title and they have been to multiple BCS games that they won.

And there are plenty of years where the ACC is very good in football and even better than the SEC.

We can hate rivals but it’s silly to be delusional about their ability and success. They would be just as stupid for downplaying our basketball success.

Still no reference to any championships. Participation trophy’s, though. Lots of them.

Hold up just a damn second and slow down
Louisville has been manipulating the system with a corrupt administration and cheating like mad. It has permeated their entire athletics department. Had the ACC known what was behind the curtain they would probably not have been invited. That's a fact.

I'm not one of those guys that preaches virtue when it comes to high level sports. If you want to cheat follow the golden rule. Do not get caught, do not embarrass your institution or organization. Louisville failed there miserably so every single issue that has come to light is to be considered in the context of your position.

Everything that has happened to Louisville over the last couple of decades is essentially a fraud. When you allow yourself to be outed as cheaters, your accomplishments are void, and in their case it goes to the entire athletics department.

So not so fast sea bass.

I think if there are regrets they would come from the ACC and its members. UL has created a black mark in basketball and embarrassed the league by re-hiring Bobby Petrino after he left them and got run off from the Atlanta Falcons and Arkansas. So the ACC suffered. Plus UL is a city school and has a very limited fan base.

On second thought Duke, UNC, FSU and a few other questionable programs are in the ACC where cheating seems to be the norm

I wouldn't say they will be bottom feeders in the ACC, but I don't see them ever being top dogs. They will be perpetually in the middle of the pack with a few years they finish top 3.

The best thing Jurich ever did for UL was get them into the ACC. It would take a heck of a lot more than what’s happened to boot them. Bottom line UL is a mediocre program across the board - Jurich created a culture of cheating to make them look like more then they are and got them into a major conference before the hammer fell. They would have never been let in if they played it straight.

Jurich accomplished his mission - made and STOLE millions in order to get UL in a position to be part of the package deal when and if the NCAA breaks down and the conferences form their own system. He put the financial stability of an entire state in flux to do so. He turned a blind eye to hookers and shoe money. He allowed thugs both of the street variety and of the business variety into the college. He went about it in the slimiest, underhanded, devious way possible, but he accomplished his goal.

So much as to whine about losing to them in June? Yikes.
Well in fairness the previous poster mentioned UL in all sports. I figure if we talk hoops in June, may as well talk about it all. That loss sucked-especially after we beat them at their house the yr before.

So they have a bowling team ?

U of L sux. I wouldn't trade us hiring dirtbag Petrino for their success with him. Then again, I'm a UK graduate and have some dam pride in The University.
