I think I’d be ok with MJ as head coach, but it would also tell us that the top 6-7 names being floated around told Trev no.

I see no straw man here.We just fired one of the only coaches that would never have bolted for a different gig. That's simply not a major consideration...you want to have a coach other top programs would love to steal.
Now this is a strawman argument. Just because you’ve taken a course doesn’t mean you know what you’re talking about. You could’ve failed the course.
There's some other guy on Twitter that has been saying it's been a done deal for a couple of weeks and 80pct of the fanbase would be happy. He also said it's a name that hasn't gotten much play. He's likely full of Iowa, but if he isn't, Stoops could fit the bill. He also claims MJ isn't the guy and he loves the word source and telling people to be patient.
He will probably spout off once the cat is out of the bag with "I told you so".

Couldn't find a good straw man gif. This is close enough.I see no straw man here.
In the holes lie the glory!I haven’t been following this thing much past the yammering going on here, but I assume Joseph is selling recruiting and knowing what holes in the roster are key to fill.
Incoming coaches rarely if ever keep any of the current staff. I would want my own people who I have worked with for years.Yeah, Sharpe just mentioned that on 1620. I'm interested if Matt Rhule keeps Mickey.
It’s common for a new coach in college to keep a guy or two to help with recruiting and the transition. Even Callahan did that.W coach Incoming coaches rarely if ever keep any of the current staff. I would want my own people who I have worked with for years.
Absolutely not true. Virtually every new coach keeps 1 or 2 coaches from the previous regime for continuity and recruiting.Incoming coaches rarely if ever keep any of the current staff. I would want my own people who I have worked with for years.

So we have a choice between Matt the spitter and the ever-sweating Patterson? Please not Gary Patterson.
You don't have a clue what a strawman argument is either. Maybe you should read the link. Now this is a strawman argument. Just because you’ve taken a course doesn’t mean you know what you’re talking about. You could’ve failed the course.
I wish my phone app would let me give you a laughing emojitry some veggies & a blue pill FreshFry
Well we could bring back the khaki pisser…..So we have a choice between Matt the spitter and the ever-sweating Patterson?
I don't want Patterson, he's already 62 years old and this job is gonna require a really high energy level.
Rolling the dice would be going with MJI would be shocked if it's not MJ.
I do think there is other interest and Trev has at least 3 candidates to consider.
It also makes sense to make an announcement now, before it gets too late into November.
I can see an announcement coming over the next 3 days. I guess pick your window, cause there are ways to justify doing it on Fri-Sat-or-Sun.
If it turns out to not be MJ, I'm going to be really disappointed.. I will try to give the new coach a fair shake whomever he is, but I just don't see that happening.
Too much has already been invested for Trev to just blow it all up, unless he doesn't like the direction MJ wants to go with coordinators etc.
Trev and MJ have a great relationship, and Trev would have to roll the dice on another guy that he may or may not get along with or see things in similar ideology or the Nebraska way. Those are big risks to anyone looking to hire someone they don't know over someone that they do know.
Wikipedia is one of the broadest databases of human knowledge that exists. It's a fantastic place to start research and I've used it numerous times for such purposes when conducting my own research. It's a pretty good place to find original research as well, and using that along with Google scholar, I average reading about 10 scientific articles per day.Brags on graduate-level courses ... cites wikipedia.
I'll take the spitter....LOLWell we could bring back the khaki pisser…..
Yes, if however many are above MJ all say no, then MJ is not as risky. Good point.context matters.

ahh man.. I can't stand a spitter.. don't like the micro rejection. gotta take it all the way.I'll take the spitter....LOL
I'm trying really hard not to be too dogmatic in this situation.context matters.
I don't know that. I know very little about the guy. Failed NFL coach.. did some decent work at some other schools.. I dunno.. he doesn't impress me off the top to even learn more about him.. I did just look him up to see what he looks like and listened to an interview.. his voice is like a 12 year old.. but that doesn't matter. I just have had no reason to even research the guy until today, and even then I stopped after the one interview.I'm trying really hard not to be too dogmatic in this situation.
Yes, I would love Mickey to get the job.
But, if he doesn't I really want to give Ruhle a fair chance because we all know the man can coach.
Come on Nikki, so were Saban, Holtz, Spurrier, and Meyer. Four of the better coaches over the last decade or two.I don't know that. I know very little about the guy. Peterson is an excellent coach and much better than what I fear we will get.Get out with that. He isn't on the market, so it won't happen but he is a great college football coach. 79% career win percentage, 2 Pac-12 Championships at Washington, 5 Conference championships at Boise St, a college football playoff appearance.
