Mike Riley? Cool. I hear he’s a really nice guy.

Because he is done coaching. Why then is he creeping out the small minority of college football fans who watch fox pregame instead of coaching?
Why would somebody so great at something (allegedly) just quit when he’s never reached the pinnacle?Because he is done coaching.
He's a really good coach. He's just done coaching football. Why would somebody so great at something (allegedly) just quit when he’s never reached the pinnacle?
Seems like an all around weirdo to me
I’m a really good day traderHe's a really good coach. He's just done coaching football.

Matt RhuleMike Riley? Cool. I hear he’s a really nice guy.![]()
show me one person who said sabanPeople have an unrealistic/inflated view of this search (Saban/Urban/etc.) It's almost assuredly going to be a Petersen, a Rhule, Aranda, BOB, Liepold, Klieman, or someone of that ilk.
Could still be O’Brien too. Announcing that you’re going to hire away a coordinator is a lot different than somebody’s head coach. My guess is that there’s no announcement. Click bait. Well done boys.Exactly.
If they did announce something today. It would have to be Mickey or someone not coaching like Urban, Ruhle, Petersen, Herman, etc.
Idk.. The grind of a college football coach and having a family probably isn't the easiest thing to balance.. He made PLENTY of money to step away and into a job making at least 6 figures... His kids are out of college now, he might have that itch again.. You can't say he's not a good coachI’m a really good day trader
I’m just done with the stock market
Makes perfect sense
Might be that he's content to live his life away from the stresses of being HC.I’m a really good day trader

Absolutely nothing can be as bad as Frost running your programMaybe we need a boring hire? Our splashy ones haven’t really worked out. Then again, Riley was boring and that didn’t work either. Idk. I give up. can’t get much worse though?

You never will, unless you strictly limit coaching candidates to ex-playersHasn't half the board said "oh we need a proven P5 coach" but yet here we are shitting on Peterson who's never had a losing record and has made 5 NY6 Bowls. I don't understand you all sometimes
Nah, he's on bet MGM loading up on the huskers +16He's scrolling through the Husker Board posting as Facecard just trolling us for laughs

This makes no sense.. Both are great coaches and run creative offenses. I'd be happy with either choice.Boner killer if I have to watch our team coached by either of those guys.....but I appreciate the creativity in your idea there.
Burned out. Just what we need. Another guy looking for a golden parachute because of the ridiculous salary inflation over the last couple of years.I’m a really good day trader

Even though I wouldn't understand his motivation to get back in to coaching right away.I'll take it
I'd much rather have LL over Campbell because LL runs a creative offense while Campbell runs a borderline Iowa level offense. Why would you rather have LL over Campbell?
MC is 16 years younger. Has a better record as a P5 coach, and won sooner at ISU (8 wins his second year).
Not even Bo???N

Some buyout agreements require the fired coach to seek out a similar position. In theory he could take an NFL assistant job to meet that requirement. Riley took that low paid job with OSU after we canned him.Even though I wouldn't understand his motivation to get back in to coaching right away.
Nope, no planned succession. Mickey either has it or he doesn't. And if he had it, he would have shown something by now.I think Peterson with Mickey on board as the planned successor would be great.
The NU job at hand requires a HC with a shitload of energy to try to turn this thing around.Burned out. Just what we need. Another guy looking for a golden parachute because of the ridiculous salary inflation over the last couple of years.

Not my first choice, but I would hop onboard for the sake of the program.I'll take it
Chris Peterson looks like Chritoph Waltz the guy who played the nazi in inglorious bastards
I think Peterson with Mickey on board as the planned successor would be great.
