I think that is too overly simplistic. I think a lot of millennial and younger conservatives are embracing a populist agenda that historically was the Democrats territory. Meanwhile the democrats have become the party of the elite to some extent.
There was three days of rock throwing at national guardsman and an ROTC building was burned down. The shooting occurred maybe 5 or 10 minutes after there was a lull in the rock throwing. I believe the blanket shooting at basically a hill full of wandering students was wrong, but there was substantial provocation. What the rioters did at Kent State was much worse than what happened on j6. 5 years after the event, a jury found the Governor and the other defendants not liable. The case was appealed and there was a settlement of about $670,000 with the statement of regret but no admission of liability.

I grew up in Northeast Ohio and my father got a football scholarship to Kent state. I was aware of what was going on and in particular the burning down of the ROTC building. I got the facts from chat gpt regarding the Rock throwing. Anybody is welcome to challenge those because sometimes chat GPT is wrong. From what I can gather maybe one to three people were seriously injured on January 6th. You are welcome to present contrary facts. According to chat GPT, One national guardsman who was hit by a rock needed medical treatment. The idea that the vice president was seriously physically threatened is ridiculous. It was obviously hyperpole by the rioters/protesters.

If you were able to read on the level of a fourth grader, you would have noticed that I previously said that notwithstanding the very provocative and dangerous things that happened, the shooting was not justified because the national guard was not in immediate danger at the time they shot into the students. In terms of your question, as to who allowed the national guard to fire, it was governor James Rhodes and the federal courts said it was an open question whether or not the shooting was justified and allowed the matter to go to trial.

I'm thinking about it, Piggy. A few seasons ago, I would have steered well clear of a game like this, but Clemson football has fallen off a bit. I still think the Tigers will win, as Cal does not have an abundance of physicality or depth on the OL and DL, and is always capable of executing faceplants in meaningful games. But Clemson is on the road, and you just never know. If I was Dabo, I would be running the ball continually while on offense and trying to exert maximum pressure on Sagapolutele while on defense.
