Some things that should change

Not really new stuff but it needs to change.
1. Board posters need to ease up on calling out players. Some comments are over the top.
2. Pike needs to get more vocal with the refs. We seemed to get called for a lot of offensive fouls, which are also turnovers. He plays the role of a punching bag and I think it rubs off on the team.
3. One or more players need to get chippy. We have seen Young get taken out dangerously, Palmquist dragged down, Mulcahy elbowed left and right and now playing with a broken nose yet the team never responds, maybe due to Pik'e passiveness. Nobody has shown an edge this year. One or more players need to start swinging elbows back even if we take a foul.
4. Either Young or Mathis should be on the court at all times but infrequently at the same time (unless Montez gets back to previous form), and they should almost always press. Young is playing better so he would have the majority of minutes, maybe 28-12.
5. Mulcahy needs to shoot more as he is second on the team outside the centers on FG percentage and second on 3 Pt percentage. Shooting more would also allow him to pump fake and drive, maybe dishing.
6. Need to start giving Mag some minutes at the expense of a player or players having a bad game. We will get tired if we go deep in the B10 tournament (pray).

This is a good thread. I agree with these points and was also mentioning some of them today while watching this disaster.

Point 1 Couldn't agree more.
Point 2+3. This won't change. Not his style but it is aggravating and wish it would change.
4. I agree. I argue that Mathis should be back in the starting lineup. Montez as the 8th man is not productive. He is offensively capable of being very productive and plays great D. Mulchahy is not the same since his broken nose but did get a little more aggressive late. He has not done much and I love his game but i might put him on the bench. Honestly, Harper might need to come off the bench. I would put him there and see if something changes but doubt if that will happen. He is in terrible funk and is not getting in the flow.
5+6. Won't hurt.
Coach Pike had a bad day today. The effort was not there. Game plan was predictable. Most importantly some changes need to happen. It is tough to watch.

Mulcahy percentages are high because he only takes shots when he's absolutely wide open. Like as open as you'd be when practicing shooting three's by yourself. I agree with you assessment that he should shoot more but I'm certain that will meaningfully drop his %s. But what it would do is force teams to guard him on the perimeter more if he was more of an offensive threat.

Run the offense through Myles. Side to side and kick it in to him and let him shoot or pass. He really needs to figure out how to shoot a free throw though.
