That's not the issue. Those teams are playing a one-off game. Cincy and SMU would not do that!
I like the idea of Cincinnati. It’s an easy drive for both fan bases. It gets a game in the critical recruiting state of Ohio when you’re only playing there every 6th year otherwise. Nippert is a bucket list CFB stadium. Cincy is a good program that’s finished ranked 6 of 13 years. And it’s a fun city.
In a 10 year period, we will play 30 non cons. I figure we may have to tolerate one 1-2 record, two max.. and we should be 3-0 around 5 times. That means we cannot do a lot of home and home vs the likes of Stanford, especially since we tend to step in dog crap every other year against Akron, ISU et al.
In short, two of the games, we need to have around . 900 win %, the others around 50%. Half of the tough games will continue, inexplicably, against Duke. Unless we have surgery to remove our heads from our asses, we will probably be around. 500 against them
