With 4 regular season games left in Rhules FIRST season:

- We have tied our highest win total in the last 7 years. SEVEN… we’ve been bad for a long time…

- first undefeated October in 22 years

- after Wisconsin loses tonight we will be in a 4 way tie for 1st in our (terrible) division. We haven’t won our division in 11 years.

- We are 1 win away from bowl eligibility

We still aren’t a great team but we are better than we’ve been in 7 years. I am very confident in our future and I am so glad we landed Rhule

To add to this, we have a bunch of young kids playing that are producing. A lot of them. The future looks bright. Just need to shore up the OL, figure out ball security and take some steps forward with QB and we will become a good team quickly.

We started 9 underclassmen on offense.

Who do we lose off this team? Kemp and Grant on O? What OL?

Robinson, Reimer, Henrich, Newsome, Brown, on D?

Give Rhule and the staff props for turning around Tommie Hill. The guy is playing like he belongs.

That’s becoming clearer with every game. Rhule is playing B1G football. Hard nosed on both sides of the ball.
Using what he has available and teaching them that they are better than those on the other side of the scrimmage line because they have prepared better.

We’ve also seen guys like Omar Brown and DeShon Singleton ball out this year and they hardly played last year. It’s safe to say that every player who didn’t quit is playing noticeably better than they were in the past

This team is actually pretty good. If we play a clean game we're blowing out everyone in the big 10 west.

And look at the young talent we have on defense!
The D is playing with some swagger and the younger guys are feeding off of it. That's the way it used to be. I can just imagine a buncha 40 something guys watching this D play and thinking, "Yep".

That’s huge for overcoming adversity. Which has been an obvious struggle over the last several years. But it is also a matter of time where that **** is going to make us lose games. The team as a whole (for somehow a decade) has been terrible with turnovers.

What a joy that has been. The defense has been the biggest reasons for the wins. If the offense can stop shooting themselves in the feet, we will have a really chance to win out.

It’s just nice to have some hope for the future and to watch this group have a reason to have some fun. They deserve it.

Last year‘s end of season winning at Iowa colors our vision a bit about how the offense was last season. But the defense began to trend up when Busch took over. Those kids saw what could be last year, and Tony super charged that this season. The offense is evolving into a different approach from what the coaches were planning at the beginning of the season and it’s almost 180° away from what Whipple was doing last season. And of course, over half the starting offense has experienced season-ending injuries.

I made this point earlier this week. The talent for a very good D was there but Chins was just hot garbage as a coordinator. Busch took over and you could see the improvement almost immediately.

Bill has to be really proud of those kids. As he should be.

Blackshirts under White are earning RESPECT. If Rhule can slow down the fumbles he is in position to win the west in his first year as well as a bowl game, and perhaps even a respectable bowl berth. No one would have believed it after the first 5 games. Freaky really that NU has suffered so bad since Osborne. Guess the odds got back at us with a vengeance after so many years of success.

Its great to see good defense, improvements gaining weekly, and a HC who gets it done and is off to his best start as a HC. It's also great to see wins adding up. POSITIVELY!!

I remember a certain a certain poster clamoring for Chins to get a shot as HC

We’re going to HAVE to take care of the football if we want to beat Wisconsin. They were pretty competitive with OSU last night.
