Some Perspective: Remember Otega

I had to do a double-take. Otega was ranked #109 as a transfer, well below Jaxson Robinson (21), BG (23), Amari Williams (27), Brea (49), Andrew Carr (65), and Lamont Butler (89). The only transfer in 2024 who was ranked lower was Kerr Kriisa at 113.

We truly never know who is going to break out in a new system and with new coaches.

Oweh was a better shooter than Zoom. If that tells you anything.
Well, they play different positions. Also, shooting, at least as far as long-range jump shots are concerned, isn't what earned Otega his accolades. It was his ability to create off the dribble and finish on the fast break. Aside from the heave against Santa Clara, Otega most memorable and clutch moments happened within 5 feet of the rim.

This is why I am genuinely confused on Pope and bounce back and forth. Why was his first team fully healthy a potential final four team yet this year was such a disaster? Were the players just better than we gave them credit for?

It's not crazy to work the portal and find your needs, but you've gotta do your homework.

yeah and Oweh, in his multiple years, led the team to a whopping S16 and a top 6 SEC finish as the BEST result.

Looks like he was ranked just fine

If Oweh wanted to try and get some more eligibility, like DA, that'd be cool.
Oweh played 28 games or more all 4 years. DA only played 12 his freshman year which is his basis for trying to get another year. So sadly, OO probably wouldn’t get that extra year.

I think you’re totally missing his point.

Consider also that last year, Pope and the staff were in on a LOT of guys who ended up being amazing. Just couldn't close and/or picked Jasper instead.
