Oh, I love these images!

Btw, the jeep pictured in close up with the gentleman smiling is not an MB. It's a Willys MA, one of the first produced military jeeps. If I remember correctly, there were only 1500 built each of the first contracted units from each of the three builders, those being Willys, Bantam (the BRC), and the Ford GP. It's easy to tell these early jeeps apart as they still had the manufacturers name on the grilles and other areas, and in the case of the Willys, slat grilles and a very different front figure configuration. After that, the military banned the names of the manufacturers from the vehicles, and they were all supposed to look basically the same, and it was only Ford and Willys who got the contracts. Bantam made the trailers (which is sad for them, since they were the ones who came up with the initial prototype and design). Those early jeeps are very rare indeed.

Ford, being Ford....got around the whole name drop...they stamped the distinctive cursive "F" for Ford every damn bolt and fastener they could. That's why it's easy to distinguish a later Willys MB from a Ford GPW. Sly Devils. It's much more expensive to restore a Ford WW2 jeep because of this...finding those little F stamped bolts is maddening....and profitable for those that have them lol.
