3-2 now with loaded bases and 0 outs. Bottom of the fourth. Finally making a pitching change.

Same crap as what we had with our baseball team last night. MSU has 3 runs on 8 hits while OM now has 3 runs on 2 hits. Walk, walk, hbp, walk, walk, ....

ETA now 8-3 OM as they hit a grand slam. But hey, at least we threw a strike. They now have 8 runs on 3 hits.

8-3 now .... When Vann came here MSU was bottom tier SEC program, 8 years later still bottom tier SEC program.... her best SEC finish was her first year at MSU.

Softball is about pitching, and if you haven’t got pitchers that can whiz it by the other girl you ain’t competing in the upper half of the SEC. if you have girls you want to excel in softball, you best get them with a good pitching trainer around 6 or 7 years old.

Facilities were updated in 2016, I can't say I keep up with softball enough to know if we have improved or regressed. We did get better in Women's Basketball over that same period and the Hump is horrible as far as facilities. Now the atmosphere is fantastic now that we are winning.

Anyone ever been to a game? Fast Pitch softball wasn't around when I was in school and just started up as I graduated and worked in Starkville. Is it a good time?

Saw the SEC NW interview

after OM gal had hit a Grand Slam.

Oh Well.

The replay did show a few of their players displaying the Land shark sign.

I've been to a few on campus and elsewhere. I cant get past the dancing, chants, cheers, etc that 18- 22 yr old athletes do in the dugout. It's just hard to take them seriously as competitors after watching the silliness they come up with

Yes, because a banana on your head and the bench mob craziness aren’t silly.

This is the truth. Mine is 9 and it became very obvious this spring season that she and her team need to get serious. She's a catcher now, but because of the value that is apparent with pitchers, I'm about to start her with a trainer for pitching. Maybe next year she'll be caught up to the rest.

The CONSTANT cheering/chatter done by some softball teams from the dugout is ridiculous and childish (my opinion).

My 12-year old daughter plays softball and I help coach her team. When her teammates start up with their BS cheering/chanting, we look at each other in the dugout, shake our heads and roll our eyes. It makes me cringe.

Thus far, I have resisted the urge to tell them to STFU.

Prayers requested.

I don’t allow any player to sit in the dugout other than pitchers and catchers. Girls aren’t guys. You better figure that out, because you absolutely cannot coach them the same way.

As annoying and over the top as that was, the average softball game I've seen is even worse. Admittedly, my sample size is small.

Not being a smartass, but where does the rest of the team go when not in the field? The stands?

Seems odd but I'll defer to someone who has, ya know, coached softball.
