Does it change things? Just trying to figure out the bi polar Rollercoaster some of you suffer from.

Players got in foul trouble, players got hurt, one was already out, some didn't play well, they blew a lead, went to overtime, and still found a way to win.

That's a good experience, good test of adversity, and different challenges.

It's always about growing and learning in different situations. Some of you can't grasp that. It's why they don't just play the ncaa tournament from the start and call it a day.

I'll give you some advice, therapists are available everywhere...most of them even offer telehealth so you can still stay at home.

Yep, it was an ugly win, no doubt. I can understand some frustration. I was frustrated several times in that 2nd half. We clearly need TyTy. We dealt with some injuries and it took away our momentum. Miss St started making shots and tied it. But in the end, we had to win a game that could have gone either way and did what we had to do to get it done, and a win is a win. Oscar was amazing. Gotta be happy with that. With TyTy back and our other weapons playing well, we will be fine moving forward. We've gotta have TyTy back.

It's just not ok to be up 15 at home with 12 mins to go and have to win in overtime. Miss St isn't that good and they couldn't make free throws or we would have lost. That and the Vandy melt down at the end, we get beat by guards to much. People are mad about it. We can't execute well enough to be a very good team.

No he’s not. He just wants attention. Posts like that are just as bad as the ones he’s targeting. I hate the posters that feel like they need to tell everybody what to post even if the posts they’re targeting are over the top. No one is a hall monitor, though many seem to think they are.

Fishboy (everyone knows who I’m talking about) is the biggest culprit. He never (at the very least extremely rarely) ever posts anything about the actual games or even basketball in general. All he ever does is attack other posters. Those types should be shown the door IMO, but I don’t make the rules.

From the post you just made, it seems like you might want to take your own advice. Whining about others whining? Nice touch.
See what we got to do is, we gotta try and find a way to toughen up the original whiners. That way they won’t whine. Then all the people who don’t like whiners won’t have to whine about they who whined first. Got it?

Oscar said after the game that he's pretty sure Tyty will play at Kansas so that's good news. This team is totally different without him.

Let’s hope so because I don’t see winning without him. We have two players that are completely indispensable. They are TyTy and Oscar. Call me Captain Obvious.

Is that the standard hater defense when someone points out their lack of coping skills? The whiny kids do get picked on a lot.

This is turning out to be a better year than I expected. Yeah it was a tough game. But if you analyze the circumstances it’s not an unreasonable out come. Lot of injuries to key personnel. Kids played tough. Learned some lessons. Had just come off a tough loss on the road. Another tough one looming. We won. Pack the bags. Move on.

By the way, first half may have been best defense all year.

I think we all knew going into this game that the only outcome would be negative ie losing. Didn’t seem like a win would matter much. But I’ll say the op is on to the fact that adversity hit us, injuries hit and the eighth adjustments were made and Grady is a legit complement now to tyty as go to guy. This game helped him and will pay off as the year goes on.

with that said. KU is the last real shot at a top 5ish win this season. We could go into the tourney with a good record but without that type win I won’t know what to believe about our team. There is that level of uncertainty in having not really beaten a top caliber team.

We are damn lucky to have won tonight. Miss State is a good team.
**Our starting guard and second leading scorer TyTy Washington was out tonight.
**Our leading scorer and leading rebounder Oscar T missed chunks of time due to foul trouble and an ankle injury.
**Jacob Toppin missed huge chunks of game time due to an ankle injury.
**Our guard and leading 6th man D Mintz was saddled with foul trouble which forced him into passive defense.
Those reasons mentioned above are why it was closer than it maybe should have been.

I am relatively new here. I love the board and enjoy the varying opinions about UK basketball that are voiced here. Most of our fans are pretty knowledgeable, passionate and opinionated, that’s ok. What I don’t get are the daily threads vilifying one segment of our fan base or another. What purpose does it serve. Heres what I know, I have been to Maui when about 90 percent of the fans there are UK fans . I have been to Vegas and the Meadowlands when a third to half the fans in attendance are UK people who traveled hundreds of miles to see the Cats. I have been to SEC tournaments where half to 2/3 s of the crowd where ours. I have been to NCAA tournaments where half the stadium crowds are UK fans. NOBODY else in basketball does this , NOBODY. We have the best fans in college basketball. You guys perpetuating the civil war going on with a portion of our fan base. WHY DONT YOU GIVE IT A REST

Actually only posts that just pull nonsense out of their ***. I think blatant bullshitters need to be dragged out in the sun. Like now.

By the way, I probably discuss way more basketball than you or the majority of the haters. Relentlessly bashing a coaching with made up garbage and out of context quotes is not discussing basketball. Neither is tantrums over PlayStation level strategies.

It’s their right to have an opinion, whether you or I agree. It’s a message board meant for discussion and not just pom pon waving. But It’s devolving into a ******** because far too many want to tell everybody else what they can and can’t say.

All true but they were also without their best big man too. And Mintz played very poorly which is surprising since he has been playing really well. It happens. Maybe just a bad matchup for him.

Great post. I would absolutely LOVE if this happened. I would love it if we could just call a truce and just support this current team. It would make my job much easier and it would make my life much more at peace. There was a time when this board was a total joy for me, a pure pleasure. It is a misery right now.

I was definitely frustrated but I said really late first half that the way the fouls were shaping up it was gonna hurt us and it did. I didn’t expect the injuries again but it all came together to create a nightmare when that guard got hot and started abusing Mintz. He really played a bad game.

How is he speaking the truth? This is the BBN. We didn’t become synonymous with winning by making excuses for program issues. We didn’t become the envy of college basketball by being cool with .500 records to Auburn, elite 8 losses to Kansas State, Mounting losses to Tennessee and friggin Kansas. Wasn’t Kansas like 5-23 against UK when Cal took over?

I know we can’t beat everyone but we can expect to. I’m not into a players first program as much as I’m into a No excuses program. And lately, guys like the OP are nothing more than mouthpieces of excuses. Here’s a pro tip - if you’re making excuses, it’s like turning a solid turd into a gas. Yea somethings there but it doesn’t amount to ****.

Temp bans need to be handed out for name calling. You do it enough and it will not be the problem it is. Even dogs can be trained not to do things. People will learn much faster.

Tired of fans telling other fans how they need to act , cheer , whether they can be pissed or not . Its a really bad look to rub wins in the faces of what should be your fellow fans . OP seems to be a good poster , but man stop the attacks .. were people pissed Mintz couldn't guard a post last night ? yeah. Were people questioning what seemed like a bizarre substitution pattern ? yeah. Are people pissed we have a lottery pick getting on the bench doing nothing ? yeah . Were people asking why no TO at the end when we end up throwing up a poor attempt ? There are some legit gripes . Live with it . We scream about injuries but MSU had a high scorer out as well. Theres a certain segment where 100% of everything we do is peaches and cream . Thats more harmful than demanding excellence IMO .. carry on fellow fans .

Totally agree and when you have passionate fans that support the program like the BBN does, it goes both ways. We don't just look down at the ground and say "awe schucks" when we go 9-16 or do things that cost us a 16 point lead, or blow an undefeated season by taking the air out of the ball, no, that passion doesn't just go away, it goes both ways and those people that don't like it when it's something other than 'rah rah, good job Cal', just need to deal with it. I don't like it when people think it's okay that we are an NBA farm system, but I deal with it.

I overlooked your thread before I posted this am ... great take . I agree 100% . And yeah I'm one of those fans thats been to Vegas twice , Atlanta , Starkville , Tusculosa Knoxville . etc etc . It gets old being attacked here as a problem not a supporter . Hell I was accused of being an Aggies fan just last week .. by a poster that post here regularly .

I did read couple post on this thread unfortunately I'm at work don't have time to read all. I apologized for my over reaction thread about switching defense occasionally but some took it personal and one even told me to stfu lol 😆 keyboard warrior! I shouldn't have called Cal a dip **** lol I love him and the team. He really frustrates the hell out of me though sometimes but I wouldn't want anyone else leading us except him right now.

People that get so upset at kids playing a game are the ones that have a lot of issues in their own lives. This is all they have OP.

On the game last night, I was disappointed with letting them back in the game but there was never a doubt we would win that game IMO. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I know 100% we have no shot of winning on Saturday at KU, just like I figured we didn't at AU. Now with TyTy maybe I would have been wrong on AU game, but we will never know. Cal refuses to play Sharpe to help make the team better and we cannot stay healthy so we are going to lose on the road to the better teams...is what it is.
